Another timely one for me, friends! I just love this quote from the late author Elizabeth Edwards because it speaks of resilience in the midst of challenges. Yes, your big plan may not have fallen into place like you expected. However, it’s up to you to reroute and position yourself for future success — lest you get tossed to and fro by the changing, unpredictable headwinds. This Wednesday Word No. 53, courtesy of DesignAndDandyCo, is all about not taking “no” for an answer. I’m starting to realize that I’m not in as much control as I used to think, but that’s OK. When obstacles come my way, it’s up to me to adjust. It’s easy for me to feel discouraged when things don’t work out the way I hoped they would. Who else can relate? For instance, I had my heart set on a particular venue for my book kick-off and thought I’d be able to rent the space at a low cost because of a connection. But when it came down to it, it just wasn’t cost-effective to host my event there. Now I could cry and let that minor roadblock and hurt feelings impede my purpose, but instead I’m hustling harder to bring that goal to fruition. Moral of the story: Flexibility in the midst of adversity is essential. Be willing to go where the winds are. Don’t hold on to failed missions. Position yourself for victory.
