5. Kudos to Modern Citizen for giving pinstripes a modern, sleek new lease on life with this darling Channing Striped Tie Blouse. If you wanted to be extra matchy-matchy, look no further than this darling Paola Striped Swing Skirt. Also, the wraparound tie adds an unexpected bit of flair to this charming striped crop top. Get into another batch of “New Year New Me”-inspired (HAPPY NEW YEAR!) goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. Ghanian jewelry-maker Christie Brown knew exactly what she was doing when she made this Chinaya Bib Necklace in Canary. As an avid button enthusiast, I was immediately drawn in by the layered discs of varying ankara-esque fabrics and the yellow beaded tiers that just take the piece to a whole new level. Talk about a statement necklace! This piece also comes in Gold Coast (bronze), Citron (lime green), Flame (red) and Indigo (midnight blue). Either way, you can’t lose. (christiebrownonline.com)

2. Sometimes you just have to pause and admire excellent craftsmanship. Take for instance this Saint Wide Brimmed Hat in Navy by Loéil. This structured wool fedora fat with matching ribbon trim detail is regal and alluring. (theloeil.com)

3. This Kate Belted Shawl Collar Coat is a feminine, sassy take on the traditional trench coat, and I’m here for it. This long coat can be tied to conceal a ravishing dress or opened to call attention to the layered goodness inside. (boohoo.com)

4. Nothing says “new year new me” quite like a daring outfit. Ring in 2016 with this stunning Irina Miro Ruffled Bateau Neck Mini Dress, which shows off those sexy shoulders and collar bones and leaves room for the perfect statement necklace to shine. Minimal elegance and its finest, folks. (stylewe.com)

5. Let this MOTO Clean Shirt Dress lay the foundation for a killer look. Paired with a bright pair of ankle booties, some high-top sneakers, a suede pump or a knee-length boots, this piece can come to life in a way that shows off personality and individuality, whether on a Monday in the office or a Saturday brunch. Get into another batch of gotta-have-it Christmas-inspired (MERRY CHRISTMAS!) goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. In the words of my boys Hall and Oates, “It’s you and me forever.” Yes, this Sarah half sequined clutch will have you smiling and rejoicing in the fact that it makes for a splendid staple night-out purse. Not too much sparkle but lots of versatility (peep the removable crossbody strap). I think she’ll make several appearances this Christmas and well into the new year. (thegooddanger.com)

2. Move over, blue suede shoes. There’s a new diva in town and it goes by the name of Belanger Loafers, thanks to the incomparable Jeffrey Campbell. These red suede numbers just scream “Christmas cheer.” Spread it with each step you take, be it at a holiday party, New Year’s Eve bash or on your first day of work in 2016, ’cause, hey, who says bright shoes are only for the last two weeks of the year? Not feeling so flashy? These kicks also come in (a pale-ish) pink, navy and grey. (shopbop.com)

3. Did I just transport back to the Gatsby-art deco era or what? This gorgeous vintage-inspired Gold Crochet Dress has me wanting to hear live jazz at a speakeasy as I sip on some absinthe. But more likely, you can find me wearing this exquisite floral-detailed dress as I wait for the ball drop. (modandsoul.com)

4. If variety is the spice of life, then the earrings found in this Posts Parade Set are the equivalent of a kicked-up gingerbread cookie: sweet yet spicy. They’re all quite darling, but my personal fave is the large crystal cluster, which adds a lovely bit of holiday sparkle to any outfit. (anthropologie.com)

5. Now that it’s officially winter, let’s not be shy about rocking those cold-weather pieces. This White Black Geometric Printed Scarf can warm my neck and enhance my ‘fit any day of the week. I’d love to see just how many different prints I could pull off while wearing this accessory, a la the legendary Iris Apfel. (genuine-people.com)

Get into another batch of gotta-have-it goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. Giddy up! If these Yosabina Patch Pony Flat Ankle Boots by Eeight (E-I-E-I-Oh snap!) don’t make you gallop with delight, I don’t know what else will. Pair these kicks (more like kick in the pants, amirite?!) with an all-black ensemble to let the pony print speak for itself. (polyvore.com)

2. Don’t let go of this darling Hold Tight Clutch by Wool and the Gang. First of all, great brand name. Secondly, the detail on this fun little number is stunning. Thirdly, this is the perfect sized bag to hold all the essentials: cell phone, lipstick, keys, etc. Oh, and it’s available in a range of shades. (woolandthegang.com)

3. “Bundled up” doesn’t have to mean “bummed up.” Leave it to this Scratchy Mono Duster Jacket to serve up some serious style while also keeping you warm. The black-and-white pattern just screams for a pop of color, so take heed, ladies. (missselfridge.com)

4. Now that I think of it, this Thick Shaker Knit Sweater would pair nicely with that duster jacket. Or, hey, go without. This red number has enough spunk to rock as a standalone anchor to an outfit. The ribbed detail sends the message that it’s about to get real cozy up in here (up in here). (joefresh.com)

5. This Mini Herringbone Dress is both elegant and sassy. Show them legs! And good call on layering, Zara! The collared shirt really brings the look home. (zara.com)

Get into another batch of gotta-have-it goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. I’ve fallen and I CAN get up … and head on over to ASOS to get my paws on these dazzling Head Over Heels Lou Lou Embellished Pointed Flat Shoes. These little gems are the perfect accompaniment to a subtle swing dress or any outfit in need of a good dose of flash. I can just see the jewel stones sparkling underneath a faux fur-collared coat. (asos.com)

2. I think Beyoncé was talking about these earrings when she sang, “I love you like XO.” Or maybe not, but these XO Stud Earrings in 14K Gold Vermeil by Bing Bang are enough to make me want to sing from the rooftops. Also, the name of this shop says it all: You will lust, covet and desire all the things inside. I mean all of them. You’ve been warned! (lustcovetdesire.com)

3. This isn’t your hippy mother’s version of flower power. That’s for sure. This quaint Flower Power Tee is simple, sweet and sassy. Mix a little sugar and spice by pairing this darling tee with a leather skirt, a la the model in the photo, or layering it with a collared blush long sleeve. (thestyleclub.com)

4. Would you be ready to walk in a winter wonderland in this Pink Grey Lapel Pockets Woolen Coat? I know I would! I absolutely adore the interior striped lining detail and the way this trifecta of hues works. I would rock this with a statement sweater layered with a black-and-white striped collared shirt, some rolled boyfriend jeans and a dainty pair of flats. (shein.com)

5. I just met you but I already love you, Jenny! This Jennifer Glasgow Kazan Dress is a fit-and-flare number with a pleated combo insert in a Japanese crosshatch print. It dares to be different and I’m here for it! (garmentory.com)
