Get into this super-cute batch of swoon-inducing goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. A curtsey is in order when addressing a piece as elegant as these stacked Bourbon & Boweties Black & Labradorite Stone Bracelets. It features marbled stones, lustrous glass pearls and inky-black crystals, wherein each piece could be deemed the real star. Since this boho-chic bracelet combines multiple pieces, you can really get creative with the layering. Hop to it! (nordstrom.com)

2. This Taupe White Envelope Clutch from DeAlmeidaDesigns is definitely something to write home about. The killer color combo of white and taupe fit nicely in this darling little package. It’s large enough to carry the essentials yet stylish enough to elevate an ensemble. (etsy.com)

3. This Meridian Sweater-Jacket in Stripe will transition smoothly from summer to fall (eeek! time flies). Color-blocking is here to stay, friends, and the stripes effortlessly add a smidge of razzle-dazzle. It’s the quintessential lazy-day frock: Just throw on a pair of jeans (boyfriend or skinny — take a pick), a tank, some flats and this jacket, and you’ll look lovely. (madewell.com)

4. Asymmetry is at its finest with this Belted Wrap Midi Dress. The different hem lengths and stripes give off a certain sporty vibe (hey now, Sporty Spice!) but could look equally stunning if dressed up. I’m digging the choice of the all-white (daaaamn, Daniel. back at it agin) sneaker here, too. (genuine-people.com)

5. Lavender, black, white or autumn: Take your pick and traipse through the city while wearing the sweetest Kimchi Blue Meryn Ruffle Babydoll Top. That ruffle tho! Plus, I enjoy the high slits on the slides. As the sun gradually sets, break out a wedge or a bootie to play up the night-on-the-town factor. (urbanoutfitters.com)

1. Step out with style and grace with these bold Mackie Wedge Heels. I’m especially fond of the suede and strategically placed slits. Already got your fill of the black-and-wood combo? Don’t fret. These fierce foot candies also come in Mocha (tan), Rosso (red-orange) and Natural/Pewter (cream). (kelsidaggerbk.com)

2. Say whaaaat?! No need to yell across the room. You’ll make quite the statement with this dazzling Style #0091 Gold Statement Necklace. It has tiered levels of gems and gold and screams “I’m here.” Bling bling, y’all! (lovejbyjulia.com)

3. Hi there, hi-low! It’s definitely girl-next-door meets girl-on-the-go with this Everly: Olivia Striped Off the Shoulder Dress. It has me swooning thinking of the possibilities. Beach day ensemble? Date night moment? It has cutie-patootie written all over it. (stylelustshop.com)

4. Tell us how you really feel, Tobi! This Miss His Kisses Mesh Maxi Dress is sultry and sleek. The mesh makes for a perfect nighttime frock and looks ultra fab. I see you, goddess! (tobi.com)

5. Now that’s what I’m talking about: a versatile jacket that elevates a look with ease. Take a look-see at this lovely Silence + Noise Kirra Swing Trench Coat. Oh, the layering that can take place. I’m thinking I about how I can bring this fun piece from summer into fall. Get is while it’s hot. It’s discounted and something tells me it won’t stick around much longer. (urbanoutfitters.com)

Fancy Things Friday

May 13, 2016

We get it. May grey is a very real thing. In an effort to keep your eyes on the sunshiny days that lie ahead, this Fancy Things Friday features some super-cute fun-in-the-sun essentials:

1. These Bali Slides from J.Crew are a Dusty Cypress shade that make me crave a desert romp. Think about it. Palm Springs when it’s 90 degrees out, and you’re lounging poolside with a refreshing drink in your hand. These sandals certainly fit (foot?) the bill for the quintessential summer sandal. (jcrew.com)

2. These Nude Slouch Bags are doubly debonair and functional. I see River Island is hip to my bag-within-a-bag swag, but these purses clearly work well as separates. Plus, the gold tone detailing adds a touch of sophistication. (riverisland.com)

3. Bring your A game to the workplace in this darling Great Gal in the Corner Office Top from (who else?) Modcloth, the foremost purveyor of all things cute and stylish. The pattern is interesting without going overboard, and the slight peplum makes me squeal with delight. (modcloth.com)

4. You gals know mustard is my jam! It’s perfect for every season and has a certain way of making my skin pop. That’s why I’m a huge fan of this Textured Sheath Dress. Dress it up or down. You know the routine! (forever21.com)

5. Doesn’t this boho-chic Ecote Fonda Striped Surplice Romper make you want to frolic? Well, at least that’s how it makes me feel! Whether it’s brunch or the beach, you’ll steal the spotlight in this extra sweet playsuit. (urbanoutfitters.com)

Get into this all-new batch of spring-inspired goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. This Mina Envelope Satin Clutch Bag has me all wrapped up. Need it in my life! I love a piece that can be worn multiple ways. Shhh! You can’t tell from this angle, but there’s a shoulder strap tucked inside. Use it at your leisure, ladies. (accessorize.com)

2. Step into spring, when the weather’s warming up and signs of new life are emerging, with these super-cute Dolce Vita Payce Sandals. Seen here in Mint, these sleek slides also come in Honey. They’re also the perfect candidates for dressing up or down. I, for one, can see myself strolling in these to Saturday morning brunch. (urbanoutfitters.com)

3. Fun in the sun must be on the horizon, because I just caught a glimpse of this Island Fantasy Floral Romper, which has a definite retro feel to it, like circa 1978. It also reminds me of “Gilligan’s Island,” for some reason. There’s lots to love about this charming piece. The pattern is giving me tropical island feels (need a piña colada STAT!), and the neckline provides options: off the shoulder, scoop neck, one shoulder, et cetera. (gojane.com)

4. Just like the newness of spring, these Vice High Waisted Zipped Super Stretch Skinny Jeans in White provide a clean slate with which to build a stunning outfit. Take cues from the model here, and wear these jeans with a black jacket and open-toed heel, or forge your own path by going a completely different route. A colorful top or heel would be a nice choice. Also, let’s not forget what drew me to these hot-pants to begin with. The gold zippers give me life, as does just about any gold accent! (missguidedus.com)

5. Madewell’s Industry Button-Back Top won’t steer you wrong. This darling top is the quintessential office-to-after thing go-to. Picture this: buttoned all the way down during the day, and undone, as in the picture, come nightfall. It also comes in Bright Berry (red) and True Black, and you’re in luck because it just went on sale! (madewell.com)

Get into an all-new batch of swoon-inducing goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. Kate! You never cease to amaze me. Shouts out to Kate Spade for singlehandedly being responsible for keeping ladies’ wrists dainty and fun throughout the years. This ‘Tiny Metro – Bow’ Leather Strap Watch in Black/Mother of Pearl is so precious, I literally. CAN. NOT. Too much sweetness to take, and if you prefer a different flavor, don’t fret because this beauty also comes in Vachetta (Pink) and Red. (nordstrom.com)

2. Greetings and salutations to Rachel Stewart, who I just discovered. You have to check out her designs! I’m crazy in love with this Two-Sided Triangle Clutch from her Rachel Stewart Jewelry imprint. Just when you thought this party-in-a-bag couldn’t get any more lit, it goes ahead and flips the switch to reveal a leopard print. That’s right! This clutch is double-sided. Double the excitement. Double the versatility! Double the props from admiring gal pals. (rachelstewartjewelry.com)

3. I thank my lucky stars for this Best Years Surplus Jacket—Lucky from Gypsy Warrior. This one’s for the girl who’s all about keeping it real, unabashedly dishing out swag and providing a smidge of spontaneity. Fingers crossed! This one’s a keeper! (gypsywarrior.com)

4. A little on the softer side, this Oh My Love Bette Davis Applique Flower Romper is darling and cute as a button. London-based label Oh My Love should be commended for its great attention to detail here, as this little number features a semi-sheer textured short-sleeve top with a banded crew-neck and short-sleeves. (urbanoutfitters.com)

5. Thanks to Topshop, I have an official “easy like Sunday morning” staple jacket. This Knit Boyfriend Jacket is for those days when you’re in need of warmth and comfort. I need it in my life. (topshop.com)

1. I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with these Jeffrey Campbell In Love Leather D’Orsay Flats. Why, you ask? The two-toned dynamic duo of tan and black. You can never go wrong. Obvi. (urbanoutfitters.com)

2. Artitzia advises that this Sunday Best Dashner Dress be saved for when you’re feeling particularly coquettish, and I concur! The flowy cap sleeves and fit-and-flare silhouette are particularly flirty. Hey, boys! (aritzia.com)

3. It rained a good amount (well, at least for Southern California in the tail end of summer) earlier this week, and for the first time in a long time, I didn’t know what to wear. Not a good predicament to be in at 5 a.m., scrambling to get dressed and out the door for work. But I digress. I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that fall, and chillier weather, is upon us. However, this swanky Mono Check Duster Jacket actually has me looking forward to autumn and winter. Plus, the vintage feel is an added bonus. I spy small pockets of houndstooth! (missselfridge.com)

4. Look like a walking masterpiece in this stunningly abstract Brush It Off Painted A-Line Midi Skirt. It paints a lovely picture of a avant-garde statement piece that commands attention. (gojane.com)

5. Way to play the wild card with these fun Leopard-Print Slacks, H&M! The possibilities are endless with these pants: day or night, work or play, heels or flats, neutrals or a pop of red — you catch my drift. (hm.com)

1. Latigo takes a walk on the adventurous side with these Milly Pokadot Sandals. First off, way to get bold with the spelling of “polka dots,” and secondly, I cannot get enough of the black dots set on the backdrop of a natural hue. (revolveclothing.com)

2. How darling is this Short Sleeve Pleated Dress by StyleNanda? It’s demure enough for Sunday morning at church, but can easily go good-girl-turned-bad (a la Rihanna) when paired with a bright pop of color, be it in pump or purse form. (en.stylenanda.com)

3. Get down to business with this Zipped Poplin Jumpsuit by Zara. It’s a simple, straightforward look. But, hey, sometimes you just have to go for softspoken strength. (zara.com)

4. Take it back to the old school, ’cause I’m a (not-so) old fool who’s so cool. “Whoomp There it Is” is right. These retro Mr. Throwback X Originals Black Joggers truly do like up to their name, harkening back to the ’90s. I could totally see Ol’ Marty Mar lounging in these numbers. (mrthrowback.com)

5. I must have been in some type of preppy mood, ’cause the pleats have made an appearance yet again with this show-stopping Kimchi Blue Pleated Skirt Dress. In this case, the pleats are a nice complement to the edgy cutout back. Hey, now that I think of it, this dress is a classic case of “business in the front, party in the back.” I’ll call it a mullet dress. (urbanoutfitters.com)

1. It’s about that time! Now that the gift-giving season is in full effect, I’m putting my wish list out there, and The Exchange Watch in black/stingray is at the top of it. Not only is it fit for everyday wear, it’s got tons of style. (fludwatches.com)

2. Wait a hot second! You mean to tell me that Fossil sells more than watches these days? Well, clearly I’m tardy for the party. However, I refuse to let you sleep on this Robot Resin Clutch. The side panel kinda resembles a robot, when you look closely. I must say, “Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto!” The future never looked so bright and trendy. (fossil.com)

3. Something about this Hot Glam Pencil Skirt just screams “holiday head-turning.” This sassy little number works at the office Christmas party just as well as at the New Year’s Eve bash. Pour me a glass of egg nog, and let the festivities begin! (pockettboutique.com)

4. Though I haven’t been amused by these rain clouds over Los Angeles this week (or the chill they’ve brought), this Clouds Print Beige Blouse more than makes up for it. Throw a statement necklace on this top and heat things up. (romwe.com)

5. The lumberjack look gets a hip makeover with these Chums Big Mike’s Overalls in mustard yellow. They’re made of a durable but soft cotton, which makes them the ultimate cozy coverall. (urbanoutfitters.com)

1. The Flud Duffle (Black Croco) makes me want to go on a trip just so I can look fly en route. Now that’s what I mean by traveling in style. (fludwatches.com)

2. I appreciate the playfulness of this Triple Triangle Rhinestone Necklace. Don’t let the dainty size fool you — this piece packs a stylish punch. (urbanoutfitters.com)

3. Go on and dust your shoulders off, ladies! As a matter of fact, go ahead and bedazzle them. That had to have been the line of thinking when the designers of Wallis Fashion crafted this Petite Black Embellished Jumpsuit. Or at least that’s how it goes in my head. (wallisfashion.com)

4. These White Pockets Floral Casual Pants are just screaming to be paired with a brightly colored blazer. I personally would go with a mustard yellow — my favorite fall hue. Close second is burnt orange, in case you were wondering. (sheinside.com)

5. Speaking of color, I am enamored with the rich shade of these grape-colored Luxe Ankle Grazer Cigarette Pants. These trousers are also the perfect length for showing off your snazziest shoes. (asos.com)

1. Come sail away with me and this luxurious World Traveler Eternity Scarf. I must say, this darling accessory makes the transition from summer to fall a smooth one. (urbanoutfitters.com)

2. Alice and Olivia’s Piano Bag infuses playfulness and style in this über-unique across-the-body bag. I’ve got the sudden urge to play “Chopsticks,” by the way. (aliceandolivia.com)

3. The label True Decadence at ASOS says it all. This True Decadence Tall Strappy Colour Block Jumpsuit is just that: truly decadent! So many styling options flood my mind when I see something as polished and charming as this. (asos.com)

4. I say “faux sho” to this Faux Leather Pleated Skirt from Forever 21. Someone get me a knit top and a red lip STAT! (forever21.com)

5. Doesn’t this sweater remind you that it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood? Well, don’t mind me while I get my Mr. Rogers on in this preppy BB Dakota Galena Cardigan. Cute sweaters like this soften the blow that fall will be upon us in no time. (shopbop.com)
