Fancy Things Friday

February 3, 2017

Punxsutawney Phil may have seen his shadow yesterday, but I’m already prepping for six weeks of spring. Warm it up with these Fancy Things Friday finds:

1. When I say “Coa,” you say “Chella”! That’s right. This darling Best of the Fest Black and Cream Fringe Clutch has Coachella written all over it. Heck, it’s even alluded to in the product title. This dynamic little clutch is giving me all kinds of life with its bold Southwestern print and frisky fringe! (lulus.com)

2. So nice, I had to share Lulus twice! If this doesn’t scream “take me down to the paradise city,” I don’t know what will get you to see the beachy vibe woven all over this Adventure in Costa Rica Grey Straw Hat. I picture myself lounging on a white-sand beach with this number topping my crown, and a piña colada in my hand, of course. (lulus.com)

3. I’m transfixed by this brazen Amuse Society Spellbound Woven Top. This almost-tribal print is a sight to behold. (revolve.com)

4. This Blue Yoke Ruffle Pin Stripe Shirt Dress is giving me “home on the range” meets a feminine “Risky Business,” with a dash of Sunday’s best circa 1987, and I’m here for all of it! I’d pair this dainty, frilly frock with some tan or light brown cowgirl boots and a simple tote. Done and done! (missguidedus.com)

5. Now, before you run and get the red paint, you must know that this edgy De Vil Coat is shown here in all its faux-fur glory. Channel your inner (not-so) Cruella as you set out for a night of mayhem in this piece, which makes quite a statement. (nastygal.com)

Fancy Things Friday

January 28, 2016

Get into an all-new batch of swoon-inducing goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. Front Row Shop was all, “I am woman; hear me roar,” when it concocted this Pink Asymmetric Zip PU Jacket. Edgy and fierce with a feminine touch, because, hello. Pink. It’s the details that do it for me here: the notched lapels and the ribbon zipper pulls. Plus, the asymmetric look is on fleek — just like your auntie’s haircut circa ’89. (frontrowshop.com)

2. These Mountain Post – Peaks Sterling Silver Stud Earrings from TheAngryWeather are giving me serious winter feels, as they’re reminiscent of snow-capped mountains. Chilly willy! The silver lining here is that these silver showstoppers are handmade with love. (etsy.com)

3. They say El Niño is gonna show up and show out this winter. While we wait for the little-big fella to arrive, check out these Riff Raff Rain Boots from Nasty Gal. It’s literally where the rubber meets the road. Wear these fun guys out when the weather outside is frightful. But, hey, splashing in puddles with these would be so delightful! No doubt, they’ll keep you high and dry. (nastygal.com)

4. Remember when dark-skinned Aunt Viv danced for her life that one time in dance class, showing those haters how it’s done? (Still one my favorite moments from Ms. Petty LaBelle herself, Janet Hubert, although her recent readings have made me reconsider which reigns supreme.) Well, you can bring that look to life with this curve-hugging ribbed Little Miss Popular Jumpsuit in Rose. Just be sure to nail it with a statement necklace and a strappy heel, and snap in the face of any shade that comes your way. ‘Cause you cute and you know it. Yaaass, Queeen, yaaaasss! (fashionnova.com)

5. Math was never my strong suit, but this Black Geometric Print Bomber Jacket could make me fall in love with geometry. The black-and-white pattern is eye-popping and the faux leather shoulder patches help bring this stunning jacket home. Doesn’t it just exude power? (riverisland.com)

Ashley Adores’ Favorite Things: Market Colors Polished Medallion Clutch

November 11, 2014

I see your true colors shining through, Market Colors, and that’s why I love what you’re doing. I recently got acquainted with the online store and nonprofit, and am glad to have done so. Market Colors makes a “handmade impact” by collaborating with craftsmen across Africa and selling their amazing products to people around the world.

This is what founder Lizzie Randazzo had to say about how Market Colors came to be: “God called me to this type of ministry over several visits to Africa. I spent days with widows anxious over whether they could give their kids food that day because they hadn’t sold many of their handmade products at the market. I don’t say that to pull at your heartstrings, but because it’s the truth. Together, we can change that — not for everyone in Africa, but for many.”

There were many items that struck my fancy while perusing the website, but none quite like the Polished Medallion Clutch, from Market Colors‘ Winter 2014 Collection.
