Fancy Things Friday

June 23, 2017

Are you ready to get snatched for the summer? Look no further than this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. This Vero Moda Floral Ruffle Cut Out Swimsuit is giving me “La Isla Bonita” meets “California Girls” plus a dash of summer lovin’. There’s so much to love in such a small package: the floral print, the ruffles that give a taste of peplum and the cut-outs. I might even throw on a pair of cut-offs and a pair of bright orange heels and stunt on ’em while out on the town. Say I won’t. (asos.com)

2. If the best things come in small packages, you’ve hit the jackpot with this darling Abbie Envelope Crossbody. At 6″ x 9″ x 1″, this bag is just big enough to carry the essentials. This one’s for all the Minimalist Mandys out there. This bag also comes in Ivory and Blue (a sky-like hue) for those looking for some pizzazz. (anthropologie.com)

3. You’ll never guess what type of journey awaits with this darling Learning to Fly Navy Blue Jumpsuit. I’m into the cinched waist and flowy fabric that leads down to the elastic ankles. This piece shows just the right amount of skin with the adjustable halter back, too. This jumpsuit will have you looking flawless with minimal effort — a dainty gold necklace and an open-toed heel will go a long way in completing the look. (lulus.com)

4. Take a bite out of this juicy Orange Side Split Midi Dress, courtesy of Miss Selfridge. Something about this pop of color commands attention. The side split also helps catch eyes. I’m here for this tangy burst of flavor. Yummerz! (missselfridge.com)

5. H&M is on to something with this polka-dotted Cotton Dress. It’s a prime example of how simplicity is key to creating a classic look. What you can’t tell from this view is that there’s a cut-out section at the back with ties. Hey now! (hm.com)

1. These precious Lori Cutout Flats by Restricted transition well from summer into fall. With a chambray top and a bright midi skirt, these rustic-inspired shoes would definitely pop. (shopruche.com)

2. I’ll admit it. I have long been a staunch naysayer of fedoras. That all changed when I saw Lack of Color’s collection of wide-brimmed fedoras. This Montana Hidden Shadows hat is super versatile with its deep grey brim, black bow detail ribbon and light marle grey crown. It gives me a certain film noir dame vibe. (lackofcolor.com.au)

3. With its daring cobalt blue hue, the sexy silk Caila Envelop Skirt has a regal air about it. Pair this wraparound skirt with an open-toe heel and your invisible crown, and they’ll be singing, “She’s your queeeeeeen tooo beeeee.” (shopdoll.com)

4. I’m always proud to rep for Team Natural. These Naturally Dope Hand Painted Earrings from Leather Candy Accessories make it easy. Plus, dopeness needs to be acknowledged and celebrated. (etsy.com)

5. Florals and polka dots join forces in this vintage-inspired Princess Rose One-Piece swimsuit. So much charm in one small package! (limericki.com)

1. Happy Fourth, y’all! Red, white and blue are a must for today, but you can be patriotic all year long with these stars-and-stripes Van Doren Authentic kicks. Pair these with a chambray shirt and some white denim, and you’ll be a modern-day Auntie Sam. (vans.com)

2. This is not your average swimsuit. This lovely Zimmermann Elixir Frill Tankini brings a certain elegance and charm to all notions of takinis that have come before it. I’d even dare to wear the top for an evening look — and passersby would be none the wiser. (shopplanetblue.com)

3. What’s not to love about this Back Detail T-shirt from Mango? From the polka dots to the scoop neck to the two bows across the back (the ’90s called and we were happy to catch up!), this top brings the party wherever you are. (mango.com)

4. Time surely is on Kate Spade’s side, as the designer never fails to bring us wonderful accessories on top of daring fashion. I’m especially intrigued by this Metro watch, with is big face, textured leather strap and dot detail. (katespade.com)

5. Looks like Forever 21 has turned up the heat with its Tulip-Back Printed Romper. You can’t see it in the picture, but this playsuit features a cutout in the back that sends the message that you’re ready for a night to remember. (forever21.com)

1. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen anything quite like these Lovestruck collaboration oxfords-meet-booties from LoveMade and Solestruck. I’m intrigued. They look much better on. If the polka dots aren’t your cup of tea, these masterpieces come in pink neon black and cheetah. Hurry! They’re selling out. (solestruck.com)

2. The ruffles found in these Sashay into the Sun Swimsuit Bottoms elevate this bikini bottom to a whole new stratosphere. But no need to get out of this world when these sassy bottoms belong on the beaches. P.S. Summer Solstice is tommorrow. Yippee skippy! (modcloth.com)

3. Call me crazy, but the Inaya Aztec One Shoulder Playsuit, with its bold print and daring color palette, takes my mind to a modern take on “Bedrock beauty.” Go with me for a sec. Reimagine “The Flinstones” in this day and age. Wouldn’t this be something that a grown-up Pebbles would wear out with her girls? Anywho, take this look from day to night by adding a belt and some heels. (missguidedus.com)

4. Say “hello hello” to these dainty and delicate Tiro Tiro Circle/Slash Studs. (tirotiro.com)

5. This Dress Lily Stripes Print Chiffon Scoop Neck T-Shirt has “me” written all over it. The styling possibilities are so vast! I’m thinking yellow leather joggers. Do those even exist? (dresslily.com)

1. Isn’t it lovely? There’s so much to love about Aldo’s Hosken flat slingbacks. I’m particularly fond of that eye-popping black-and-white pattern on the toe. Now to find the perfect sundress to complement them. (aldoshoes.com)

2. This bright neon green Easy Sleeveless A-line Dress is a likely contender. I’m a huge fan of the drama and glamour that this dress can and will bring. P.S. The skirt portion is so poofy it was a struggle to fit it in the frame. My kind of dress! (oasap.com)

3. If ever I had $980 just laying around, I would splurge on this Falkor statement necklace. Currently made to order, this Dylanlex piece is made with antique Swarovski crystals, signature coins and detailed Indian filigree, and is guaranteed to make you shine. (dylanlex.com)

4. National Small Business Week may have ended, but ’round these parts I’m keeping the local love going strong. You have to check out Sexy Swim Boutique for all your summer swimwear. This Red Bow Bandeau Top High-Waisted Bikini has that sultry retro vibe that I can’t get enough of. Plus it has two things that I absolutely adore: polka dots and bows. It’s ready for pre-order! Get it while it’s hot. (sexyswim.storenvy.com)

5. It’s rare that you find a blue leather jacket. All I can say is, it’s electric. Muubaa Sembri Leather Jacket, there’s just something about you. (nastygal.com)

1. This week’s heatwave has turned my mind toward fun in the sun and swimwear. I’m about ready to make a splash with this tropical-looking Mikoh Barbados Striped Bikini Top. (net-a-porter.com)

2. To cap off this year’s National Small Business Week, I’d like to introduce you to ARC of LA. The name of New York-based designer Abigail Rose Chapin’s exquisite line of leather bags is an homage to her years spent in the great city of Los Angeles. I’m bummed that I missed the Echo Park Craft Fair, where her bags were on display but I’m glad I found them online. And I must say, she’s got quite the assortment of patterns, sizes and colors. This Medium Grey/White Diamonds Hand-Printed Horizontal Pouch is to die for. (arcofla.com)

3. “Sí,” “oui,” “hai” and “是” are what I say to this Hugo Guinness for J. Crew “Yes” Tee. I can’t get enough of handwriting and quirky fonts like the one on display here. (jcrew.com)

4. Simplicity seals the deal for this Sofia Nautical Stripe Pleated Dress. Bring on the yacht parties and floppy hats! (ravifamous.com)

5. Summer just wouldn’t be complete without a cool slice of watermelon. H&M pays tribute to the time-honored sweet treat in this Cropped Tank Top. (hm.com)
