May 2, 2016

My Hawaii vacation was pretty amazing (check back tomorrow for the full Travel Log), and it was only enhanced by exploring the island’s best attractions and venues while wearing some fabulous outfits. In this dual Outfit of the Day and Night, I step out in style with two lovely pieces, courtesy of Tobi, the online retailer that has THE most darling women’s apparel and has been featured in many a Fancy Things Friday.

See more of this daytime ensemble and discover what I cooked up for the nighttime after the jump!

1. I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with these Jeffrey Campbell In Love Leather D’Orsay Flats. Why, you ask? The two-toned dynamic duo of tan and black. You can never go wrong. Obvi. (urbanoutfitters.com)

2. Artitzia advises that this Sunday Best Dashner Dress be saved for when you’re feeling particularly coquettish, and I concur! The flowy cap sleeves and fit-and-flare silhouette are particularly flirty. Hey, boys! (aritzia.com)

3. It rained a good amount (well, at least for Southern California in the tail end of summer) earlier this week, and for the first time in a long time, I didn’t know what to wear. Not a good predicament to be in at 5 a.m., scrambling to get dressed and out the door for work. But I digress. I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that fall, and chillier weather, is upon us. However, this swanky Mono Check Duster Jacket actually has me looking forward to autumn and winter. Plus, the vintage feel is an added bonus. I spy small pockets of houndstooth! (missselfridge.com)

4. Look like a walking masterpiece in this stunningly abstract Brush It Off Painted A-Line Midi Skirt. It paints a lovely picture of a avant-garde statement piece that commands attention. (gojane.com)

5. Way to play the wild card with these fun Leopard-Print Slacks, H&M! The possibilities are endless with these pants: day or night, work or play, heels or flats, neutrals or a pop of red — you catch my drift. (hm.com)

1. This dainty Diamond Necklace was one of many superbly made goods and wares during last weekend’s Renegade Craft Fair in Los Angeles (In fact, all the items on today’s list are from vendors who attended the event.). I envision this charming accessory resting gently atop a V-neck tee. For some reason, it’s giving me a beachy keen vibe, and I’m all for it. (haroldstudio.com)

2. And speaking of beach vibes, take a look-see at this cool-as-a-cucumber Wave Stripe Beach Bag. It’s perfect for loading up all your beach essentials for fun in the sun, or even for those who are California dreaming. (mcartershop.com)

3. This January Dress from Apricity has so many things a girl could ever hope for: bows, hidden pockets, pleats and a touch of whimsy. Oh, and the best part for me is that this dress can be worn two ways: bow in the front or bow in the back. It’s all about the details for me. (shopapricity.com)

4. Soiyl’s Huarache Slides in Mahogany would look darling with a patterned sundress, or anything, really. You can look at them and just tell that someone put such care into making them by hand. I love a piece with character. (soiyl.myshopify.com)

5. I’m a fan of options, and this sweet Mazy in Peach V Dress presents multiple. Criss cross the straps or wear them normally. Dress it up or down. Have a field day with this southwestern-patterned dress by Field Day! I know I certainly would. (fielddaywearables.com)

1. Zara is giving me full-on springtime sass with these Leather High Heeled Sandals With Bow. I live! (zara.com)

2. A lovely tribute to legendary African-American songstresses Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday and Etta James, this Queens Tee from Hayes Denim Co. offers many styling possibilities. Maxi skirt? Colorful denim? Yes, please! But however you choose to style it, be sure to wear it proudly–we come from great stock! (hayesdenimco.bigcartel.com)

3. I know I can always count on Morning Lavender for simple, darling apparel. Such is the case with this gorgeous Amelia Full Blue Maxi Skirt, which reminds me of serene oceans and the fact that I’m long overdue for a tropical getaway. (morninglavender.com)

4. This Skater Dress by My Asho Market is a thing of beauty, crafted with fabric straight outta Nigeria and Ghana. With such a vibrant, unique pattern, this number would be perfect for a summer wedding or an elaborate dinner party. (nubianhueman.com)

5. Everything’s coming up roses with this super sweet Cut-Out Rose Print Dress from Topshop. Pair this stunning dress with a red lip and rosy accessories, and you’ve got a stylish take on the red, white and blue that are a hallmark of Independence Day. Yes, I’m already looking ahead to the summer holiday. Don’t sleep on the Fourth of July, folks. (topshop.com)

1. I couldn’t have described this neon Electric Safari skater dress better myself. Designer Devyn Shaughnessy of Dressed2love writes, “If you and Lisa Frank went on a safari this might be something you would wear.” I bet we’d have quite the adventure reliving the ’90s. (storenvy.com)

2. Dearly beloved, if we’re really gathered here today to get through this thing called life, we may as well live it to the fullest in this simple but bold Prince tee from Deer Dana. I’d pair it with the icon’s trademark vibrant ankle boot, and take it up several notches with a raspberry beret, perhaps one found at a secondhand store. (openingceremony.us)

3. Zara, you’ve outdone yourself with this Mixed Knit Sequinned Bomber jacket! So many styling possibilities with this fancy little number. (zara.com)

4. Leave it to Anthropologie to craft something so elegant and delicate. This Single Pearl Necklace is just perfect. (anthropologie.com)

5. Go out to lunch with all your Sherlock Holmies in this H&M Wool-blend Cape and look fashion-forward and cool doing it. (hm.com)

1. Simple elegance is precisely what these Caya earrings from Dannijo are. They’re subtle enough to wear every day, but edgy enough to elevate even the drabbest of looks. Count me all the way in! (dannijo.com)

2. I recently discovered East London brand Its Not You Its Me from the Maison Bentley Style blog. There are countless leather bags and accessories with the trademark foil-embossed slogans to choose from, but this Love Don’t Pay the Rent Ciel Envelope crossbody bag stole the show for me. From a bold take on black tie to a basic backyard boogie, this bag is a must for your wardrobe. (itsnotmeitsyoulondon.com)

3. Bring on the winter chill with this Boucle Contrast Belted Coat from Bebe. I’m partial to the hood, belt and zippers, which give a certain biker chic feel. (bebe.com)

4. This Glitter Animal Bodycon Dress, with its grey and gold throughout, is giving me fall time fun, and I’m a fan. (topshop.com)

5. Cream and grey have never complemented each other so well as they do in this Breanna Ponte Midi Skater Dress. I also love the idea of wearing metallics with this sweet little number like the model, which I think adds a touch of sass. (missguided.com)

1. Have style, will travel! I’ve gotten a serious case of wanderlust, but since my bank account won’t permit me to see the world at the moment, this Alviero Martini 1a Classe Oblong Scarf will have to do. (yoox.com)

2. Mint, I just can’t quit you! This minty fresh Layla Clutch is a lovely sight to behold. (oliverbonas.com)

3. I say “heck yes!” to this Beccgirl Zip-Front Paisley-Patterned Playsuit from YesStyle. I refuse to believe that summer is coming to a close. Nope. Don’t wanna hear it. Therefore, I’ll wear my shorts and rompers like there’s no tomorrow. (yesstyle.com)

4. Since I have no need to back-to-school shop any more, I’ll just imagine I’m giving my 14-year-old self a gift. These Champion Polka Dot Lace kicks in raspberry pink get an A+ in my book. Also, Keds has free shipping and up to 50 percent off its summer styles. Get in there! (keds.com)

5. Greetings and salutations, Miss Selfridge (*does curtsy)! I’m way late to the party on this site, but I’m pleased to have met her acquaintance. First order of business: making this Pattern Skater Dress mine. (missselsfridge.com)
