Fancy Things Friday

June 23, 2017

Are you ready to get snatched for the summer? Look no further than this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. This Vero Moda Floral Ruffle Cut Out Swimsuit is giving me “La Isla Bonita” meets “California Girls” plus a dash of summer lovin’. There’s so much to love in such a small package: the floral print, the ruffles that give a taste of peplum and the cut-outs. I might even throw on a pair of cut-offs and a pair of bright orange heels and stunt on ’em while out on the town. Say I won’t. (asos.com)

2. If the best things come in small packages, you’ve hit the jackpot with this darling Abbie Envelope Crossbody. At 6″ x 9″ x 1″, this bag is just big enough to carry the essentials. This one’s for all the Minimalist Mandys out there. This bag also comes in Ivory and Blue (a sky-like hue) for those looking for some pizzazz. (anthropologie.com)

3. You’ll never guess what type of journey awaits with this darling Learning to Fly Navy Blue Jumpsuit. I’m into the cinched waist and flowy fabric that leads down to the elastic ankles. This piece shows just the right amount of skin with the adjustable halter back, too. This jumpsuit will have you looking flawless with minimal effort — a dainty gold necklace and an open-toed heel will go a long way in completing the look. (lulus.com)

4. Take a bite out of this juicy Orange Side Split Midi Dress, courtesy of Miss Selfridge. Something about this pop of color commands attention. The side split also helps catch eyes. I’m here for this tangy burst of flavor. Yummerz! (missselfridge.com)

5. H&M is on to something with this polka-dotted Cotton Dress. It’s a prime example of how simplicity is key to creating a classic look. What you can’t tell from this view is that there’s a cut-out section at the back with ties. Hey now! (hm.com)

Get into an all-new batch of must-have goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. Cross my heart, hope to buy! Feast your eyes on this stately Oval Crossbody Bag from Zara. I’m digging the two-toned color palette. Go rogue and remove the shoulder strap — it’s equally fashionable. (zara.com)

2. Circle up, ladies! Keep those UV rays at bay in style. These Round Sunglasses have a muted, light-beige tortoise-esque shell frame and a purple-ish tint. I suspect that these shades will work nicely well into fall. (hm.com)

3. Pixie Market presents femininity at its finest with this darling Pink Off the Shoulder Shirt. I could go a number of ways with this one, but I’m torn between stepping out with it in a pair of slim cigarette plants or a svelt pencil skirt. (pixiemarket.com)

4. Splurge a little on this dazzling Short Sleeve Wrap Dress by COS. The speckled print gives off a quintessentially California girl vibe, and the embossed, textured fabric keeps things interesting. Go against the grain and wear this piece open like a jacket, or buttoned and layered with a collared shirt — oooooh! or a turtleneck. (cosstores.com)

5. OK, ladies, now let’s peep Refomation. No, seriously. You’re gonna fall head over heels for this delicate Peggy Top in Blush. The embroidery floral detail pops against the lightweight silk charmeuse fabric. It’s the perfect blouse for the girl’s girl. (thereformation.com)

Get into an all-new batch of swoon-inducing goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. Don’t these huarache sandals scream summertime fun? The vibrant yellow and green on these Tusk Sandals make me want to traipse through the jungle and bask in the warmth. The cool thing about these made-in-Mexico sandals is that they’re made with recycled parts, including rubber tire sole and woven nylon straps. Now you can feel super “green” when you’re wearing them. (dusendusen.com)

2. In a bit of a contrast, this Brings You to Your Peonies Clutch is dainty and delicate and makes me want to twirl. Overcome by rosettes, this sweet little number is the perfect accessory for a sundress or subdued maxi, and has an undeniable bridal feel. The gold chain is a nice touch, but it’s removable if you’re looking for more of a statement. (modcloth.com)

3. This Ribbed Off-the-Shoulder Top is super versatile. Sometimes simplicity is key. Oh, the places you can go with this solid piece, and oh, the styling possibilities. This one is sure to become a staple of your summer wardrobe. (hm.com)

4. How darling is this Wander Fringe Top in Foxy Brown Faux Suede? I mean, c’mon. Fringe on fringe on fringe! Of course, it piques your curiosity when you see it dangling from the bottom hemline, but it packs a punch when you see it hanging from the shoulders on the back side. So many personalities you can bring to life with this ultra-adventurous top, too. Too-cool-for-school cowgirl. Festival-ready fairy. Rarely-well-behaved weekend warrior. I’m here for all of it! (showmeyourmumu.com)

5. Channel your inner pioneer woman with this Cabello Shirt in Wilma Wash by Motel. Whether you’re home on the range having a cozy dinner or roaming with the deer and the antelope at your local watering hole, you’ll look magnificent in this shirt that toes the line between romantic and tomboyish. Get into an all-new batch of must-have goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. This past week has been sending serious desert vibes, as it’s been a bit of a scorcher. Hence, this lovely Cactus Gold Necklace. It’s straight and to the point and would dazzle popping out from a V-neck tee or a romper. Also, shout out to my new desk cactus, Penelope, the belle of the ball. (wanderlustandco.com)

2. I can’t even with these Vegan Shot in the Dark Sandals by Seychelles. So much to adore! First of all, you know black and white is my jam — always a treat in striped form. Secondly, the slingback and open-toe front bring out the playfulness. These also come in a darling chambray, if you’re having a desire for denim. (freepeople.com)

3. Do a slightly different take on the traditional red, white and blue this Fourth of July with these fun, sporty burgundy Lyocell Shorts. If you’re not sold on this hue, get into the denim version. Options! Major key. (hm.com)

4. Summertime sass never looked as good as it does in this Rust Twist Front Tunic a la River Island. The cut-out detail says, “I’m ready to party!”, and the twist embellishment just chimes in with a “Turn up!” Now this dress is speaking my language. Wear this ensemble boldly with some peep-toe wedges. (riverisland.com)

5. This Floral Fit and Flare DSress is the epitome of ladylike elegance: flirty, demure and dainty. The flowers placed throughout are like a breath of fresh air and the cut-out back adds a welcome element of style and surprise. (pixiemarket.com)

This Fancy Things Friday features some springtime essentials:

1. ASOS flipped the script with these darling Leonie Square Ballet Flats by going against the expected rounded or pointed toe. The bright Orange color is exactly what’s missing from my spring-to-summer wardrobe, too. All the more reason to cop! (asos.com)

2. What’s not to love about these Black Patterned Sunglasses from H&M? I’m especially partial to the gold bar resting across the top. But you knew that already. Subtle yet stunning, I’d rock these shades any day. (hm.com)

3. Simplicity is key with this Lauren 3/4 Sleeve Curved Hem Bodycon Dress. If you’re looking for some color, this dress also comes in Black, Olive, Peach, Teal, Wine (red) and Sky (blue). This is prime for summertime stuntin’. Pair this dress with a strappy heel and a colorful clutch. (boohoo.com)

4. This Lala Peplum Top by House of Ubuhle can really put some pep in a girl’s step. First off, the V cut screams “va-va-va-voom” and is perfect for a date night. Secondly, the pattern and silhouette are all about sophistication. I, personally, would rock this with a black pencil skirt. (zuvaa.com)

5. I never understood why people paid so much money to look like they literally rolled out of bed … Until now. This 1 AM Dress is so chic and stylish that I almost don’t mind the $130 (US dollars) price tag for the tousled threads. The knot detail really brings the look home! (maurieandeve.com)

Get into this swoon-worthy batch of goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. These All Black Fishscale Flats are really all white, but that’s quite all right. Now I’m totally in the know that fishscale texture is a thing (where do they come up with this stuff?!), and I’m here for all of it. There’s a distinct retro vibe to these flats that’s got me craving batwing sweaters and acid wash denim. (anthropologie.com)

2. What happens when you fuse grit with glamour? You get these daring Logan Gold Stud Earrings in Platinum Drusy. Simple yet so complex, these earrings will elevate any look. (kendrascott.com)

3. Textures and patterns and warmth. Oh my! Could this Knit Sweater in Pink Melange be any more perfect? The sleeves are long and puffy, almost reminiscent of a Victorian-era blouse, and the knit pattern just screams “fun times.” Pretty in pink, for realsies! (hm.com)

4. Carefree and flowy, this lovely Petites Ivory Spot Wrap Dress is a reminder that spring is on the horizon. I’d pair this piece with some espadrilles, a floppy hat or a wool fedora (you know — play with fabrics), an oversized clutch and a delicate charm necklace. Wear this one to a park picnic with the boo wop or an upscale brunch with the gals. The world is your oyster! (missselfridge.com)

5. Show off those gams and make the boys blush with this Thigh Hi And Hello Curved Hem Dress in Blush. This GoJane creation is a game-changer. I’ve never seen a bodycon-esque dress with a curved hem. It hugs all the right curves and helps put your best leg forward, if you catch my drift 😉 (gojane.com)

1. I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with these Jeffrey Campbell In Love Leather D’Orsay Flats. Why, you ask? The two-toned dynamic duo of tan and black. You can never go wrong. Obvi. (urbanoutfitters.com)

2. Artitzia advises that this Sunday Best Dashner Dress be saved for when you’re feeling particularly coquettish, and I concur! The flowy cap sleeves and fit-and-flare silhouette are particularly flirty. Hey, boys! (aritzia.com)

3. It rained a good amount (well, at least for Southern California in the tail end of summer) earlier this week, and for the first time in a long time, I didn’t know what to wear. Not a good predicament to be in at 5 a.m., scrambling to get dressed and out the door for work. But I digress. I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that fall, and chillier weather, is upon us. However, this swanky Mono Check Duster Jacket actually has me looking forward to autumn and winter. Plus, the vintage feel is an added bonus. I spy small pockets of houndstooth! (missselfridge.com)

4. Look like a walking masterpiece in this stunningly abstract Brush It Off Painted A-Line Midi Skirt. It paints a lovely picture of a avant-garde statement piece that commands attention. (gojane.com)

5. Way to play the wild card with these fun Leopard-Print Slacks, H&M! The possibilities are endless with these pants: day or night, work or play, heels or flats, neutrals or a pop of red — you catch my drift. (hm.com)

1. Cue up “America the Beautiful” and throw on your best red sundress, ’cause these nautical Striped Slip-On Shoes will have you in a Fourth of July state of mind. But they’ll look just as lovely with some high-waisted shorts or a denim skirt. (cosstores.com)

2. Sometimes less is more. Raise the bar with these dainty Small Bar Studs, which can be worn every day. (stories.com)

3. If these tropical-themed Pari Print High Waisted Shorts don’t get you jazzed about summer, I don’t know what will. These shorts were made for lounging cabana-side with a piña colada in hand. (whistles.com)

4. Just as the picture suggests, this Clayton Dress by Babaton is easy and breezy! Teal is such a flattering color, and I’m not ashamed to admit that my obsession with it just won’t go away. This little number is simple enough to wear with some flats around the office, but has just enough pizzaz to dress up with some strappy heels and a textured clutch. (aritzia.com)

5. This midi Patterned Skirt by H&M brings a ton of color and flair that you don’t need to add much else to your outfit. A plain white or black tee with some sandals will do the trick. (hm.com)

1. It’s polka dot perfection with these Natural White/Dotted Flats from H&M. So many styling ideas come to mind: a hot pink dress, a horizontal striped blouse, a spotted chambray shirt, florals, and the list goes on and on! (hm.com)

2. Where are all my church girls at? I know you can relate to this Look at God tee. Won’t He do it? Yes, He does every single time. Thanks be to God! And thanks to Andrea Lewis for making one of my favorite sayings wearable. (missandrealewis.bigcartel.com)

3. If this Ivory Floral Twist Dress from Dorothy Perkins doesn’t put you in the springtime mood, then I don’t know what will. This dress was made for twirling in the sunshine. Pair it with some espadrilles and a floppy hat, and you’ve got a winning ensemble. (dorothyperkins.com)

4. How fun is this Blue Cotton Candy Beaded Bracelet Set? There’s a whole lot going on with the tassels, beads and pops of gold, but sometimes you gotta kick things up several notches with accessories. (poppycove.com)

5. Come on baby light my fire is right! Check out this smokin’ hot Clayton Tunic in cayenne by Tularosa. I wouldn’t be surprised if this spicy number is in heavy rotation at Coachella. (revolveclothing.com)
