It’s fall, y’all! Sweater weather is upon us, and this Fancy Things Friday showcases some superb styles:

1. Feast your eyes on these ’90s Baby Velvet Platform Chunky Heels, which are surefire show-stoppers. The chunky heel and double straps provide comfort and flair, and the texture just screams of luxury. If you’re looking for a little bit of color in your life, these beauties also come in Blue, Burgundy and Mustard (on the beat tho). (gojane.com)

2. In need of a versatile carry-all? Look no further than this 116 Athletics x Will Bryant Duffel Bag. First of all, the pattern is dope. And it can function as a gym bag, overnight bag and a weekender, too. Get it while it’s hot, gang! (reach.merchline.com)

3. Wear your heart on your sleeve with this darling Petite Heart Hybrid Knitted Jumper. The delicate chiffon heart-printed sleeve made me swoon, and the ruffles are just so darn sweet. Bat your eyelashes and cozy up to the one you love in this playful sweater. (topshop.com)

4. Which brings me to my next point: Sweaters don’t have to be shapeless and bland. Au contraire, mon ami! This sassy Endless Rose Cut Out Sleeve Sweater is a prime example of a sweater with a little bit of sex appeal. The teal seals the deal, and the cable-knit? I’m here for it! (revolve.com)

5. Pull up a front-row seat to a movie of your choosing in this pullover Black Wool-blended Popcorn Sweater from Front Row Shop. A literal take on “Netflix and chill,” this sweater is all about comfort and fun — the perfect homebody frock or “casual Friday” ‘fit! (frontrowshop.com)

Fancy Things Friday

June 10, 2016

This Fancy Things Friday contains a fresh batch of swoon-inducing goods and wares. Check them out here:

1. Giddy up! These Knot A Cowgirl Faux Suede Booties are enough to make me want to do my best boot scootin’ boogie. Rock these pieces of fiesty foot candy with some skinny denim or a flirty skirt. (gojane.com)

2. My girl Melody Ehsani has done it yet again with these dazzling Eye in Eye Stud Earrings. Don’t fret! These evil eyes will keep you safe against the jealous glances that are sure to come your way. As a matter of fact, give the haters something to talk about by putting these bold earrings on display with your hair in a top knot. Boop! (shop.nylon.com)

3. How darling is this Unique Vintage 1950s High Waist Flamingo Circle Swing Skirt? I can’t even. Oh, the places you’ll go in this sweet skirt. Dressed up or down, this fun little number will have you feeling as free as a bird. (unique-vintage.com)

4. I’ve got just the thing for all you artsy types: this stunning Abstract Printed Pencil Skirt. A work of art, I know. Clearly, the designers at Forever 21 had a stroke of genius with this one. So many potential looks, so little time. But I can see myself pairing this piece with a crop top layered under a moto jacket with some leather booties, and, to throw things off a bit, a bright eye and a nude lip. (forever21.com)

5. I’m so here for this Over the Line Striped Romper, hook, line and sinker. The trifecta of beige, black and white make this striped beauty all the more stylish. And the plunging neckline steps up the sass. A hidden perk is the exposed back, perfect for ripping and running on a summer’s day (or night). (nastygal.com)

This Fancy Things Friday features some swoon-worthy, fashionable finds:

1. Who says black and white means straight and narrow? This Head Wrap in Dreamweaver is a dazzling example of black and white done right with some oomph. So glad I discovered Zuvaa, too. It’s a one-stop shop for some of the most darling African-inspired pieces you’ve ever laid eyes on. I’m talking dresses, two-piece sets, midi skirts, jumpsuits, jackets, et. al — all in THE most gorgeous ankara patterns known to mankind. You’re welcome! (zuvaa.com)

2. Now that’s what I call a bag! This Leather Bucket Bag looks like it literally can fit your entire life inside — and look sleek and stylish at the same time. Pack it up, pack it in! (frenchconnection.com)

3. Channel your inner Coachella-loving freebird queen with these smokin’ hot Alena Fringe Shorts. Pair these bad boys — er, Nasty Gals — with a bedazzled or patterned ankle boot and you’re all set to slay! Snap, snap! (nastygal.com)

4. There’s lots to love about this edgy Slam Dunk Hooded Minidress from Go Jane. The cutouts are everything here, and this dress would look perfect day or night. I can see it as a swimsuit cover up for a beachside bonfire or even a date-night “bring out the big guns” kind of ensemble. Either way, it’s a slam dunk. Kobe! (gojane.com)

5. I can’t get enough of the sweetness and playfulness that Madewell serves up with this ace&jig Savannah Tank Top in Rosette Print. Peplum can do no wrong, in my book. I just love how it provides structure, makes your waist look tiny and has plenty of movement. Oh, and in case you were wondering who ace&jig are, they’re two textile-obsessed Brooklynites who started the label in 2009. And this isn’t just any old cotton top — the stock comes from softly textured, custom-dyed, hand-loomed fabric from India. Fancy! (madewell.com)

Get into this all-new batch of spring-inspired goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. This Mina Envelope Satin Clutch Bag has me all wrapped up. Need it in my life! I love a piece that can be worn multiple ways. Shhh! You can’t tell from this angle, but there’s a shoulder strap tucked inside. Use it at your leisure, ladies. (accessorize.com)

2. Step into spring, when the weather’s warming up and signs of new life are emerging, with these super-cute Dolce Vita Payce Sandals. Seen here in Mint, these sleek slides also come in Honey. They’re also the perfect candidates for dressing up or down. I, for one, can see myself strolling in these to Saturday morning brunch. (urbanoutfitters.com)

3. Fun in the sun must be on the horizon, because I just caught a glimpse of this Island Fantasy Floral Romper, which has a definite retro feel to it, like circa 1978. It also reminds me of “Gilligan’s Island,” for some reason. There’s lots to love about this charming piece. The pattern is giving me tropical island feels (need a piña colada STAT!), and the neckline provides options: off the shoulder, scoop neck, one shoulder, et cetera. (gojane.com)

4. Just like the newness of spring, these Vice High Waisted Zipped Super Stretch Skinny Jeans in White provide a clean slate with which to build a stunning outfit. Take cues from the model here, and wear these jeans with a black jacket and open-toed heel, or forge your own path by going a completely different route. A colorful top or heel would be a nice choice. Also, let’s not forget what drew me to these hot-pants to begin with. The gold zippers give me life, as does just about any gold accent! (missguidedus.com)

5. Madewell’s Industry Button-Back Top won’t steer you wrong. This darling top is the quintessential office-to-after thing go-to. Picture this: buttoned all the way down during the day, and undone, as in the picture, come nightfall. It also comes in Bright Berry (red) and True Black, and you’re in luck because it just went on sale! (madewell.com)

Get into this swoon-worthy batch of goods and wares in this week’s edition of Fancy Things Friday:

1. These All Black Fishscale Flats are really all white, but that’s quite all right. Now I’m totally in the know that fishscale texture is a thing (where do they come up with this stuff?!), and I’m here for all of it. There’s a distinct retro vibe to these flats that’s got me craving batwing sweaters and acid wash denim. (anthropologie.com)

2. What happens when you fuse grit with glamour? You get these daring Logan Gold Stud Earrings in Platinum Drusy. Simple yet so complex, these earrings will elevate any look. (kendrascott.com)

3. Textures and patterns and warmth. Oh my! Could this Knit Sweater in Pink Melange be any more perfect? The sleeves are long and puffy, almost reminiscent of a Victorian-era blouse, and the knit pattern just screams “fun times.” Pretty in pink, for realsies! (hm.com)

4. Carefree and flowy, this lovely Petites Ivory Spot Wrap Dress is a reminder that spring is on the horizon. I’d pair this piece with some espadrilles, a floppy hat or a wool fedora (you know — play with fabrics), an oversized clutch and a delicate charm necklace. Wear this one to a park picnic with the boo wop or an upscale brunch with the gals. The world is your oyster! (missselfridge.com)

5. Show off those gams and make the boys blush with this Thigh Hi And Hello Curved Hem Dress in Blush. This GoJane creation is a game-changer. I’ve never seen a bodycon-esque dress with a curved hem. It hugs all the right curves and helps put your best leg forward, if you catch my drift 😉 (gojane.com)

1. If you’re looking to stand out, take a look at these vibrant Tonka Drops Earrings. So many elements at work here: organic wood accents, crystal jewels, marble and a burst of sunshine with the reddish-orange dangling drops. And guess what. They all complement each other flawlessly! (baublebar.com)

2. Simplicity shines through with this subtle, elegant Glass Crystal Collar. Use this no-frills piece to anchor an already-fabulous ensemble or to draw attention to your gorgeous collar bones. (modandsoul.com)

3. First place, in your face! Or is it “first the worst; second the best”? Either way, you’ll stay winning with this stunning Tied for First Place Faux Suede Dress from Go Jane. The deep U neckline is sure to turn heads, while the tied bow sweetens the deal. All in all a great LBD! (gojane.com)

4. When you want to look like a domestic goddess as you’re carving into your delicious turkey this Thanksgiving, keep A Passing Prance Dress in mind. You can’t tell from this view, but the pattern features an autumn menagerie of leaping deer, curious foxes and ostentatious owls. It’s charming and super flattering. (www.modcloth.com)

5. Baby, it’s getting colder outside, and you can’t neglect those toes. Thankfully, Kate Spade New York’s Salena Fox Slippers offer warmth, style and pizzazz. The sequin accents and faux-fur lining and trim combine to make these playful, cozy numbers a hit. (shopbop.com)

1. I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with these Jeffrey Campbell In Love Leather D’Orsay Flats. Why, you ask? The two-toned dynamic duo of tan and black. You can never go wrong. Obvi. (urbanoutfitters.com)

2. Artitzia advises that this Sunday Best Dashner Dress be saved for when you’re feeling particularly coquettish, and I concur! The flowy cap sleeves and fit-and-flare silhouette are particularly flirty. Hey, boys! (aritzia.com)

3. It rained a good amount (well, at least for Southern California in the tail end of summer) earlier this week, and for the first time in a long time, I didn’t know what to wear. Not a good predicament to be in at 5 a.m., scrambling to get dressed and out the door for work. But I digress. I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that fall, and chillier weather, is upon us. However, this swanky Mono Check Duster Jacket actually has me looking forward to autumn and winter. Plus, the vintage feel is an added bonus. I spy small pockets of houndstooth! (missselfridge.com)

4. Look like a walking masterpiece in this stunningly abstract Brush It Off Painted A-Line Midi Skirt. It paints a lovely picture of a avant-garde statement piece that commands attention. (gojane.com)

5. Way to play the wild card with these fun Leopard-Print Slacks, H&M! The possibilities are endless with these pants: day or night, work or play, heels or flats, neutrals or a pop of red — you catch my drift. (hm.com)

1. Stop the presses! These Paules heels from Aldo make quite the statement with its black-and-white polka dots and pale teal strap. The daring appeal of these strappy sandals would make me want to live dangerously and pair it with something unexpected, like a red or orange sundress. (aldoshoes.com)

2. Meet the talented Janessa Leoné. This Henningsen wool and lambskin hat is an effortless, classic beauty. It’s giving me quintessential film noir dame in the best sense possible. (janessaleone.com)

3. Miss Selfridge fuses naughty (think nautical) and nice with this Petites Stripe Pinny Dress. I predict sunshine, sand and beach umbrellas in this dress’ future. (missselfridge.com)

4. X marks to spot in this extra edgy X-It Through the Jumpsuit. You can’t see it from this image, but this exquisite number features a racer back with cut-outs. (gojane.com)

5. Let’s face it. I’m Too Cool For You and this tee proves it. Of course, you gotta bring it when you make such a brazen statement. You’ll prove them right, whether you go the tomboy route with some high-top Chuck Taylors and camouflage-print shorts or the girly route with a pair of skinny jeans, a loud lip color and bright pump. 1. It’s like Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde with these Half and Half Quilted Front Jeans from Go Jane. From the back, these look like your run-of-the-mill skinny jeans, but the front is full frontal with loads of sass. (gojane.com)

2. Gold and cubic zirconia go hand in hand in these dainty Melinda Maria Remy Gold White CZ Pod Stud Earrings. I’m a huge fan of the perfectly imperfect shape of the triangles, which are quite endearing and elegant. (maxandchloe.com)

3. Exclusive to Mossman Clothing, The Epitome Of Stealth Skirt is as sly as a leopard waiting to pounce on its prey. Be the fiercest belle of them all in this super fun piece. (mossmanclothing.com.au)

4. Sometimes you just gotta let the boo-la-la-las know what’s up. I think they’ll get the memo with this Lovers + Friends Hello Lover Sequin Graphic Pullover. I personally would layer this sweater with a collared shirt and throw on a pair of patterned pants, just to stunt a little. (dailylook.com)

5. New Look’s Blue Floral Print Dial Watch will do wonders for keeping you on time and on point all year round. (newlook.com)

1. I’m simply wild about these Giraffe Suede Smoking Slippers! The applique is just so sweet. (cwonder.com)

2. Shanti from Around the Way Curls recently Instagrammed one of her friend’s jewelry pieces from the Etsy shop Gypsy Lane, and she has tons of earthy earrings, necklaces, bangles and even armbands. One of my faves are the Pyrite PEACE Hoops. (gypsylane.etsy.com)

3. Though it may be slightly confusing to the eye from this angle, this fine piece is the North Star Ring from the ever-fly Melody Ehsani. The beauty of it is it can be worn regularly or as a midi ring, and the single Australian crystal brings it all home. (melodyehsani.com)

4. Looking for a dress for festival season that makes a statement? Well, search no further than the It Takes Two To Tribal Print Dress, with its scoop neck and lower scoop back, an elasticized cinched waist and playful geometric, tribal-inspired print. You’ll be the belle of Broccoli City Fest. (gojane.com)

5. New from NCLA, and quite fitting for the fun that spring and summer bring, are the Pink Flamingos nail wraps. They bring to mind sunshine, lemonade and a dip in the pool. Party on!(shopncla.com)
