June 10, 2016

This Fancy Things Friday contains a fresh batch of swoon-inducing goods and wares. Check them out here:

1. Giddy up! These Knot A Cowgirl Faux Suede Booties are enough to make me want to do my best boot scootin’ boogie. Rock these pieces of fiesty foot candy with some skinny denim or a flirty skirt. (gojane.com)

2. My girl Melody Ehsani has done it yet again with these dazzling Eye in Eye Stud Earrings. Don’t fret! These evil eyes will keep you safe against the jealous glances that are sure to come your way. As a matter of fact, give the haters something to talk about by putting these bold earrings on display with your hair in a top knot. Boop! (shop.nylon.com)

3. How darling is this Unique Vintage 1950s High Waist Flamingo Circle Swing Skirt? I can’t even. Oh, the places you’ll go in this sweet skirt. Dressed up or down, this fun little number will have you feeling as free as a bird. (unique-vintage.com)

4. I’ve got just the thing for all you artsy types: this stunning Abstract Printed Pencil Skirt. A work of art, I know. Clearly, the designers at Forever 21 had a stroke of genius with this one. So many potential looks, so little time. But I can see myself pairing this piece with a crop top layered under a moto jacket with some leather booties, and, to throw things off a bit, a bright eye and a nude lip. (forever21.com)

5. I’m so here for this Over the Line Striped Romper, hook, line and sinker. The trifecta of beige, black and white make this striped beauty all the more stylish. And the plunging neckline steps up the sass. A hidden perk is the exposed back, perfect for ripping and running on a summer’s day (or night). (nastygal.com)

This Fancy Things Friday contains a fresh batch of swoon-inducing goods and wares. Check them out here:

1. I spy with my little eye something dope as all get-out. That’d be this super-cool D’izak Eyes Large Canvas Pouch, a masterful illustrated piece by artist Izak Zenou. In love with his style as much as I am? You’re in luck because there are plenty other items with Zenou’s stamp here. (shop.people.com)

2. It’s Friday, folks! That means it’s the start of the weekend, so you better carpe the heck outta this diem. You can also commemorate this state of mind any day of the week with this dainty Carpe Diem Bar Bracelet from My Kitsch. Live life to the fullest while rocking this piece in 14k gold and/or sterling silver plated brass. (mykitsch.com)

3. In the words of the late, great Michael Jackson, “It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white.” Thankfully you can have the best of both worlds with this Color Block Cut-Out Midi Sheath Dress from Express. I’m especially here for the front cutouts and a front-slitted reverse hi-lo hem. Mmm hmm! (express.com)

4. You should be on a boat, sipping a tropical bevy while wearing this quaint Mango Ruffled Jumpsuit. I’ll have it no other way. I can’t get enough of the nautical stripes, the ruffled bodice and the V-neck drawstring. Anchors aweigh, y’all! (mango.com)

5. This darling Eyelet and Mesh Shirtdress has got me craving some fun in the sun. The slight cinch waist shows off your girlish figure and the eyelets are eye-catching. All in all a must-have spring-to-summertime dress! (gap.com)

Fancy Things Friday

May 27, 2016

This Fancy Things Friday is all about welcoming the sunshine with some spring- and summertime essentials:

1. I’m like hey. What’s up? Hello, Akira! How perfect are these Low-Cut Sides Lace-Up Peep Toe Booties? There’s so much to love about these heeled sandals, especially the cutouts that show a little side-foot action and the tassels. They’re pictured here in Rust, but are also available in Black and Taupe. (shopakira.com)

2. I’m definitely here for these Marina Earrings in Frosted Bronze. Call me crazy, but I’ve got a sudden urge for a cream soda, thanks to these clear and frosted bronze crystals. Plus, these little dazzlers can really elevate an outfit. (glamourandglow.com)

3. This boho-chic Bec & Bridge Mandala Mini Dress is the ideal fun-in-the-sun frock. The dress has a plunging halter neckline and a dreamy pattern throughout. What you can’t see from the picture is that this piece is pretty much backless. Whoa, Nelly! At least there aren’t any potential wonky tan lines to cramp your style. (shopbop.com)

4. Brace yourself, ’cause this Stripe Cutout Jumpsuit from Hot & Delicious is exactly that! The wide-leg pants are bold and edgy, but also bring an element of wonder: Is that a dress or a wide-leg jumpsuit? It’s magical. I’m particularly fond of the cutout bodice, which shows off a little back. I mean, a little back never hurt no one. This jumpsuit just commands attention, so don’t forget to bring your A game when it comes to accessorizing! (shoptiques.com)

5. If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it’s only fitting that your Outfit of the Day pay tribute. This darling Breakfast Dress by Ziztar is quirky and sweet all at the same time, with its eggs and phoenix print throughout and ever-so-subtle ruffles at the bottom. If you do it right, this super-stylish shift dress can last you day to night. I’d start off with some all-white canvas sneakers, like Keds or Chuck Taylors, then step it up by nightfall with a bedazzled bootie or a strappy heel. Versatility is key! (shop.nylon.com)

May 20, 2016

This Fancy Things Friday features some springtime essentials:

1. ASOS flipped the script with these darling Leonie Square Ballet Flats by going against the expected rounded or pointed toe. The bright Orange color is exactly what’s missing from my spring-to-summer wardrobe, too. All the more reason to cop! (asos.com)

2. What’s not to love about these Black Patterned Sunglasses from H&M? I’m especially partial to the gold bar resting across the top. But you knew that already. Subtle yet stunning, I’d rock these shades any day. (hm.com)

3. Simplicity is key with this Lauren 3/4 Sleeve Curved Hem Bodycon Dress. If you’re looking for some color, this dress also comes in Black, Olive, Peach, Teal, Wine (red) and Sky (blue). This is prime for summertime stuntin’. Pair this dress with a strappy heel and a colorful clutch. (boohoo.com)

4. This Lala Peplum Top by House of Ubuhle can really put some pep in a girl’s step. First off, the V cut screams “va-va-va-voom” and is perfect for a date night. Secondly, the pattern and silhouette are all about sophistication. I, personally, would rock this with a black pencil skirt. (zuvaa.com)

5. I never understood why people paid so much money to look like they literally rolled out of bed … Until now. This 1 AM Dress is so chic and stylish that I almost don’t mind the $130 (US dollars) price tag for the tousled threads. The knot detail really brings the look home! (maurieandeve.com)

We get it. May grey is a very real thing. In an effort to keep your eyes on the sunshiny days that lie ahead, this Fancy Things Friday features some super-cute fun-in-the-sun essentials:

1. These Bali Slides from J.Crew are a Dusty Cypress shade that make me crave a desert romp. Think about it. Palm Springs when it’s 90 degrees out, and you’re lounging poolside with a refreshing drink in your hand. These sandals certainly fit (foot?) the bill for the quintessential summer sandal. (jcrew.com)

2. These Nude Slouch Bags are doubly debonair and functional. I see River Island is hip to my bag-within-a-bag swag, but these purses clearly work well as separates. Plus, the gold tone detailing adds a touch of sophistication. (riverisland.com)

3. Bring your A game to the workplace in this darling Great Gal in the Corner Office Top from (who else?) Modcloth, the foremost purveyor of all things cute and stylish. The pattern is interesting without going overboard, and the slight peplum makes me squeal with delight. (modcloth.com)

4. You gals know mustard is my jam! It’s perfect for every season and has a certain way of making my skin pop. That’s why I’m a huge fan of this Textured Sheath Dress. Dress it up or down. You know the routine! (forever21.com)

5. Doesn’t this boho-chic Ecote Fonda Striped Surplice Romper make you want to frolic? Well, at least that’s how it makes me feel! Whether it’s brunch or the beach, you’ll steal the spotlight in this extra sweet playsuit. (urbanoutfitters.com)

Fancy Things Friday

May 6, 2016

This Fancy Things Friday is all about black-and-white statement pieces with a pop of color:

1. When Madewell’s Tassle Time Earrings come out to play, you know it’s party time. The little bursts of fringe are nothing more than a fun adornment for your ears, but I’m here for all of its whimsy. Be sure to pull your hair up to ensure that these earrings get their due shine. (shopbop.com)

2. Stop the presses! As a matter of fact, these ASOS Publisher High Heels are bright and edgy enough to stop traffic. I can’t put my finger on it, but these open-toed heels put me in a New York state of mind. I picture Carrie Bradshaw strutting down Park Avenue in these faux suede gems hailing a cab. (asos.com)

3. Talk about deep cuts! This Inesa Polka Dot Sheer Black Chiffon and Devore Maxi Dress boasts an unabashed plunging neckline and enough razzle-dazzle to make a best-dressed list for the Met Gala, if properly accessorized. Who knew polka dots could get so sassy? (houseofcb.com)

4. You can’t tell me this Crepe Skirt Overlay Aztec Romper in White isn’t festival-worthy. It’s giving me bohemian chic in a way that makes me want to twirl (that’s where the skirt overlay comes in nicely) and sway barefoot on an open field. Who’s on board? (missguidedus.com)

5. Being bad never looked so good. Ladies, take note. This Lara High Neck Crop Top in Stripe Lace Black by Motel is the epitome of badass with a touch of class. Bonus points because I’ve never met a scalloped hemline that I didn’t like. (motelrocks.com)

April 29, 2016

This Fancy Things Friday features some swoon-worthy, fashionable finds:

1. Who says black and white means straight and narrow? This Head Wrap in Dreamweaver is a dazzling example of black and white done right with some oomph. So glad I discovered Zuvaa, too. It’s a one-stop shop for some of the most darling African-inspired pieces you’ve ever laid eyes on. I’m talking dresses, two-piece sets, midi skirts, jumpsuits, jackets, et. al — all in THE most gorgeous ankara patterns known to mankind. You’re welcome! (zuvaa.com)

2. Now that’s what I call a bag! This Leather Bucket Bag looks like it literally can fit your entire life inside — and look sleek and stylish at the same time. Pack it up, pack it in! (frenchconnection.com)

3. Channel your inner Coachella-loving freebird queen with these smokin’ hot Alena Fringe Shorts. Pair these bad boys — er, Nasty Gals — with a bedazzled or patterned ankle boot and you’re all set to slay! Snap, snap! (nastygal.com)

4. There’s lots to love about this edgy Slam Dunk Hooded Minidress from Go Jane. The cutouts are everything here, and this dress would look perfect day or night. I can see it as a swimsuit cover up for a beachside bonfire or even a date-night “bring out the big guns” kind of ensemble. Either way, it’s a slam dunk. Kobe! (gojane.com)

5. I can’t get enough of the sweetness and playfulness that Madewell serves up with this ace&jig Savannah Tank Top in Rosette Print. Peplum can do no wrong, in my book. I just love how it provides structure, makes your waist look tiny and has plenty of movement. Oh, and in case you were wondering who ace&jig are, they’re two textile-obsessed Brooklynites who started the label in 2009. And this isn’t just any old cotton top — the stock comes from softly textured, custom-dyed, hand-loomed fabric from India. Fancy! (madewell.com)

But this one is the envelope clutch to end all envelope clutches. So many things to swwon over: the snakeskin texture, the ever-so-subtle pop of gold, the hidden strap. (lulus.com)

2. “Ooh la la” and “oui oui” to these L’Éclatante Millefiori Derbies in Glitter from Bobbies Paris. Add some sunshine wherever you go with this sparkly numbers. You can’t help but smile looking at them. (bobbies.com)

3. I’ve got a sudden urge to tickle the ivories and recreate that iconic scene from “Big.” This darling Lazy Oaf Short Sleeved Shirt With Frill Hem in Piano Print is to blame. So many styling possibilities with this one, and it makes quite the statement. (asos.com)

4. You can’t tell from this photo, but there’s a wonderful surprise found on this Tie-Back Mini Dress in Blush. The bow tie back is too sweet. You know I love a good bow and cutout back. It’s also stunning in Light Olive. (forever21.com)

Get into an all-new batch of spring-inspired goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. Cool it now, with this crisp, cobalt blue Mini Fringe Crossbody Bag. The tan and grey versions are fine and well, but something about the blue feels extra special. Take this bag to new heights by removing the strap and wearing it as a clutch. (freepeople.com)

2. The Esi Top is unabashedly Afrocentric and I’m all for it. The pattern provides whimsy and playfulness, while the plunging back is a pleasant surprise. The top is also available in a teal green-and-white pattern that’s extra earthy and equally charming. (kedelcouture.bigcartel.com)

3. Shine on, girl! This Glisten Black and Nude Sequin Rose Jumpsuit just demands attention. The dazzling rose pattern overlay is made up from sequins, and this playsuit is elegant, stylish and versatile. (pinkboutique.co.uk)

4. The Hanalei Collar Necklace is a lovely reminder of the season we’re in. Springtime is upon us, and it lends itself to wonderful pieces, such as this stunning statement necklace featuring ultra-realistic marbled hibiscus blossoms secured by a structured gold collar and black ribbon. There’s a tropical touch that would make this necklace perfect for styling outfits for my upcoming Hawaii trip. (baublebar.com)

5. Peekaboo! I see you. This Faye Cut Out Dress breaks the monotony of the usual little black dress. This piece keeps you on your toes with the sleek cutout. The buttons and billowy sleeves tone down the sass and make for a darling frock. (francescas.com)

Fancy Things Friday

April 1, 2016

Springtime vibes seemed to just find me, so I’m delighted to present an all-new batch of spring-inspired goods and wares in this week’s Fancy Things Friday:

1. Of course an Etsy shop called “A Little Vintage Store” would be right up my alley. I recently discovered this magical shop and can’t get enough of all the cuteness inside. I’m particularly partial to this Thread Drawn Cactus Necklace. (etsy.com)

2. Can I kick it? Yes, you can! Elevate your kick game leaps and bounds with these Winslow Bow Slip-ons. I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge these beautiful bows. I mean, how could you not? They have a certain Japanese, origami aesthetic about them, and you can kinda see that theme showing up in a few other items in this roundup. (theloeil.com)

3. ‘Cause I’m a laaady! (*said in Sheneneh’s voice.) The name of this My Little Lady Dress from Storets is rather apropos. It’s dainty and precious and sweet and stylish. I live for the Peter Pan collar, by the way. Complete the look by pairing this number with an ankle-strapped heel or a downright Mary Jane. It goes, trust me. (storets.com)

4. There’s something so edgy and sophisticated about this Boohoo Bow Front Crop Top. Hats off to the creative genius who thought outside the box with the placement of this ginormous bow. It really makes a statement! Like, “I’m different, yeah, I’m different.” (asos.com)

5. You’d have to be an April Fool to pass up on this dazzling FRS Yellow Crane Embroidery Kimono Jacket. It truly is a work of art … from all angles. So I’ll let its beauty speak for itself. (frontrowshop.com)
