1. I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with these Jeffrey Campbell In Love Leather D’Orsay Flats. Why, you ask? The two-toned dynamic duo of tan and black. You can never go wrong. Obvi. (urbanoutfitters.com)

2. Artitzia advises that this Sunday Best Dashner Dress be saved for when you’re feeling particularly coquettish, and I concur! The flowy cap sleeves and fit-and-flare silhouette are particularly flirty. Hey, boys! (aritzia.com)

3. It rained a good amount (well, at least for Southern California in the tail end of summer) earlier this week, and for the first time in a long time, I didn’t know what to wear. Not a good predicament to be in at 5 a.m., scrambling to get dressed and out the door for work. But I digress. I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that fall, and chillier weather, is upon us. However, this swanky Mono Check Duster Jacket actually has me looking forward to autumn and winter. Plus, the vintage feel is an added bonus. I spy small pockets of houndstooth! (missselfridge.com)

4. Look like a walking masterpiece in this stunningly abstract Brush It Off Painted A-Line Midi Skirt. It paints a lovely picture of a avant-garde statement piece that commands attention. (gojane.com)

5. Way to play the wild card with these fun Leopard-Print Slacks, H&M! The possibilities are endless with these pants: day or night, work or play, heels or flats, neutrals or a pop of red — you catch my drift. (hm.com)

1. Hello, sunshine! Well, aren’t these Sonia loafers as cute as a button? I love the quirky, prep-school vibe of these bright flats, which would pair nicely with a black-and-gold embellished blazer. These fun little numbers will definitely bring the sun out on any gloomy fall day. I see you lurking, autumn! (lolyinthesky.com)

2. Speaking of cute buttons, feast your eyes on this extra darling Rosehound Apparel Pin Set. The peach, strawberry milk carton and kitty cat are way precious, and would fit right at home with the other pieces of flair I’ve added to my denim jackets. (rosehoundapparel.com)

3. Stacey Q sang, “Two of hearts, two hearts that beat as one. I need you, I need you!” Just like I need this two-toned Burgundy Color Block Peplum Blouse in my life. The deep red color is regal and romantic, making for a perfect date night choice. (choies.com)

4. The Short-Sleeve Shirt Dress from Everlane is everything a gal could hope for in a simple ensemble. Put this dress on and you’ve got a blank canvas to improvise and embellish to your heart’s content. In case you were wondering, the brand has been around since 2010, and is produced in a factory located near a small river in Hangzhou, China. Even better, Everlane is all about transparency! The company reveals its true costs, and then shows the customer their markup. What a novel concept. (everlane.com)

5. SheIn should take a bow for bringing into the world this sweet White Round Neck Bow Back Blouse. Can’t get enough! (shein.com)

1. Now that it’s colder, I wouldn’t mind wearing a fancy hat to warm this noggin of mine. Luckily, there’s Una Hats, which has an abundance of vintage-inspired handmade brims in an array of fabrics and hues. There were too many to choose from, but for now, this True Grit – Oatmeal Felt Western Chic Hat is my favorite. It’s so regal and old-timey. For some reason, the name Eleanor comes to mind. (etsy.com)

2. These Steve Madden Jannyce Black Suede Leather Ankle Boots were made for walking. And that’s just what they’ll do. That’s right, walking to a night out on the town, or an intimate dinner with the one you love. (lulus.com)

3. Move over, standard peacoat. This ultra sleek and stylish Frock Coat is where it’s at. The black faux leather trim on the lapels, shoulders and pockets are just exquisite. (madeleine.co.uk)

4. Hello there, HelloMolly! I don’t know if I’m late to the party but the online shop has plenty of darling items. For example, these multi-colored Puzzle Piece Pants that are just too cool for school. (hellomollyfashion.com)

5. I rep Team Natural all day every day and fully support this Nappy Dictionary T-shirt, because some people just don’t know. (globalcouture.net)

Outfit of the Day: Accents of Orange

It’s officially sweater weather in Los Angeles, and I don’t know whether to smile or sulk. Summer’s the best, and unfortunately, she’s long gone. For the sake of these pictures, I’m doing the former — all smiles on a Sunday afternoon. In this Outfit of the Day, I’m coping with the colder temps by layering and lightening the mood with bursts of rich color. See more of this fall look after the jump!

1. All that glitters is not gold, but in this case, these heart-shaped earrings are simply golden. The fact that these Chloe Heart Studs by Gorjana have a rich texture and welcomed imperfections places them at the top of my wishlist.(revolveclothing.com)

2.Speaking of texture, this Dorothy Perkins Toffee Brown Large Satchel Bag plays with an assortment of it, from the smooth leathery winged sides, to the crocodile peeking out at the bottom, to the gold buckle tying it all together. (dorothyperkins.com)

3. There’s just something about this deep blue hue that has my heart at the moment. This Short Seamed Jacket With Zip from Zara is straight to the point, and I’m all for the no-nonsense approach to fashion. (zara.com)

4. It’s about time I gave the boot to my all-too-predictable flats, in favor of these Taupe Faux Leather Thigh High Riding Boots. Why not live on the edge with these daringly tall wedges? I can already think of at least five ways to style them, which means I may as well go ahead and add them to my fall repertoire. (cicihot.com)

5. This Blue Textured Pleat Midi Skirt just exudes the studious, lady-like, daydreamer and maven vibe — all at the same time. And this shade of blue is a force to be reckoned with. (glamorous.com)

1. Hey there, herringbone! This Natalee printed loafer is a versatile fall shoe. But you know me. The bow brings it home. (solesociety.com)

2. Grey can be kind of blah, but not this Braid Textured Sweatshirt from Mango. Far from it, actually. I’m head over heels for this braided number. (mango.com)

3. Way to class it up, by the way. This Champagne Long Sleeve Dress gets major points for the alluring color, the dainty lace fabric, the scalloped hem, and the belt. I basically just described the entire dress. Hey, you can’t help what you love. (oasap.com)

4. Now that’s a combo you don’t see often: grey and floral print. I like your style, Obey Seygrid Crew Grey Floral Print Sweater. (lulus.com)

5. This Leanna Satchel is a bag with great bones, perfect for hauling a bunch of stuff on the inside but carrying an air of sophistication on the outside. (shoplately.com)

Outfit of the Day: Sweaters With Subtlety

“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

I relish the opportunities I get to spend with family. This is a casual outfit I rocked while grabbing dinner with my brother (pictured) and dad in Culver City. Pops bought me this ultra swagged out “Too Tuff” sweater featuring Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy from a gift shop in Florida more than a decade ago. Vintage! I kept it pretty low key but jazzed it up with the subtle hints of gold around my neck and wrist. You can’t see it that clearly but the thrifted scarf tied around my purse has bits of gold and is lined in red, which accentuates my red lips. Sweater season is in full swing and I’m looking forward to spicing up some old pieces.

Sweater: Florida Gift Shop
Collared Shirt: Thrifted
Skinny Jeans: C. USA
Oxford Shoes: Miss Me?
Purse: Thrifted
Necklace: Thrifted
