1. I have some pretty awesome, immensely talented friends! I’m so proud of them that I have to showcase what they’ve been up to. My pal, Lola Wusu, just released her Movember-inspired line, MiLa. “I discovered the Movember movement and quickly realized that my love for retro fashion statements and philanthropy had met its soul mate,” the designer says. I am quite fond of the Mo Comfy Convertible Dolman Poncho, which looks how a warm hug feels. This right here is making me catch feelings for autumn. (

2. Another friend of mine, Rachel Herbst, is making waves with her super cute Pendleton accessories designs. This Pendleton canvas rucksack is currently available at The Rare Bird in Oakland, Calif., but it doesn’t appear to be sold online. I can’t wait to see her work live and in the flesh the next time I’m up in the Bay Area. (

3. There’s no need to be blue, unless, of course, you’re wearing it. This Madeline Statement Necklace is made of acrylic blue jewels and navy and clear rhinestone pendants, and I need it in my life. (

4. Look fabulous while braving the chill with this Fall Into the Holidays Chevron Scarf around your neck. The contrasting pattern and snugly fabric is more than enough to get me talking about the genius of infinity scarfs. Get yours (in navy, as pictured, or burgundy) now before they’re all gone. Also, I was delighted to discover that they have a store in my city: Long Beach (*raises roof*)! I’ll have to pay them a visit. (

5. Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Eve. Any of those festive occasions call for something special, and the Flare Gold Dress certainly fits the bill. Light up any room you walk into with this sassy little number on. (

1. Where Brooklyn at?! Fun fact: This Uzi Woven Tee, featured via clothing line Spiritual America, was made there. Wear this avant-garde black-and-white top and you’ll be right at home on the hipstery streets of New York. (

2. Skorts are back with a vengeance, in case you didn’t know. Sanctuary’s Soft Skort is like the older, sophisticated sister of the skort of yesteryear. But don’t get it twisted — she can still rage with the best of them. Live on the edge with this tribal-print high-waisted piece. (

3. Tell it like it is with this Jet’aime Necklace from Jennifer Meyer Jewelry. (

4. Relax your feet, but don’t you dare kick off these shoes. “Why?” you may ask. Because it’s a nonstop party with these Beebop thong flat sandals. Please observe the fact that paisley print never looked so perfect than it does here. (

5. Words of wisdom: Be Brave & Be Kind. To wear this helpful reminder on your wrist, look no further than this stylish bracelet from The Lost Lanes. Apparently, the phrase “be brave and be kind” is a lyric from the song “Baby, We’ll Be Fine” by The National. The more you know. (

1. Calling all bookworms! I’ve found something that’ll make your heart skip a beat. That’s exactly what happened when I laid eyes on this Upcycled Book Lamp from Wolfgar Handmade. Look, kids. Reading can be fun while being fundamental. (

2. Is it back-to-school shopping season yet? LOL. That used to be my favorite time of year in my youth (#nerdalert). Well, if I was still a student, this Women’s Loose Leaf Notebook Paper Print T-Shirt would be at the top of my list. The letter-writing advocate in me just may cop this one, for good measure. (

3. Kate Spade just keeps it coming with the hits! The Photo Finish Milo bag is my jam of the moment. (

4. Topshop takes us to the tropics with its Leaf Print Spliced Midi Skirt. Throw on a crop top and you’re ready for a piña colada nightcap. (

5. On your sleeve. On your back. Wherever you wear your heart, I’m sure it can’t top this Heart Cutout Top from Haute Rogue. It’s sweet and daring all it once, and that’s what makes me love it! (

1. Happy Fourth, y’all! Red, white and blue are a must for today, but you can be patriotic all year long with these stars-and-stripes Van Doren Authentic kicks. Pair these with a chambray shirt and some white denim, and you’ll be a modern-day Auntie Sam. (

2. This is not your average swimsuit. This lovely Zimmermann Elixir Frill Tankini brings a certain elegance and charm to all notions of takinis that have come before it. I’d even dare to wear the top for an evening look — and passersby would be none the wiser. (

3. What’s not to love about this Back Detail T-shirt from Mango? From the polka dots to the scoop neck to the two bows across the back (the ’90s called and we were happy to catch up!), this top brings the party wherever you are. (

4. Time surely is on Kate Spade’s side, as the designer never fails to bring us wonderful accessories on top of daring fashion. I’m especially intrigued by this Metro watch, with is big face, textured leather strap and dot detail. (

5. Looks like Forever 21 has turned up the heat with its Tulip-Back Printed Romper. You can’t see it in the picture, but this playsuit features a cutout in the back that sends the message that you’re ready for a night to remember. (

1. Turn heads in this fluorescent MinkPink Temple Romper that just screams “summer madness.” We hear you loud and clear! (

2. Keep your eyes on the prize, whatever it may be, in these snazzy Sunpocket Samoa Sunglasses. I’m partial to the dark tortoise hue pictured here, but the crystal greys go just as hard. And the best part about these shades is they fold! The perfect answer to a girl’s wish of a less bulky purse. (

3. There’s something off about this Multicolor Long Sleeve Graffiti Print Dress that makes it on, if that makes any sense. This wearable piece of art is bold enough to do allll the talking for one outfit. (

4. Leave it to Kenzo to make sequins super stylish. This Blue Embroidered & Sequined Fish Jacquard Sweatshirt is far from gaudy, but is just the right blend of flair and simplicity. (

5. Tiptoe through the tulips in these Floral Canvas Lace Up sneakers from You Must Create. Throw on these to brighten up any ensemble, if you dare. (

1. Isn’t it lovely? There’s so much to love about Aldo’s Hosken flat slingbacks. I’m particularly fond of that eye-popping black-and-white pattern on the toe. Now to find the perfect sundress to complement them. (

2. This bright neon green Easy Sleeveless A-line Dress is a likely contender. I’m a huge fan of the drama and glamour that this dress can and will bring. P.S. The skirt portion is so poofy it was a struggle to fit it in the frame. My kind of dress! (

3. If ever I had $980 just laying around, I would splurge on this Falkor statement necklace. Currently made to order, this Dylanlex piece is made with antique Swarovski crystals, signature coins and detailed Indian filigree, and is guaranteed to make you shine. (

4. National Small Business Week may have ended, but ’round these parts I’m keeping the local love going strong. You have to check out Sexy Swim Boutique for all your summer swimwear. This Red Bow Bandeau Top High-Waisted Bikini has that sultry retro vibe that I can’t get enough of. Plus it has two things that I absolutely adore: polka dots and bows. It’s ready for pre-order! Get it while it’s hot. (

5. It’s rare that you find a blue leather jacket. All I can say is, it’s electric. Muubaa Sembri Leather Jacket, there’s just something about you. (

1. I’m looking forward to some good music, good weather and good company this Saturday at the Broccoli City Festival in Los Angeles. JoJo — yes, grown and sexy JoJo — is headlining and I’m pretty juiced to see her grace the stage with her sultry vocal stylings. Tickets are still available! Get yours now. (

2. Edgy meets elegant in Magnolia’s Green, Turquoise & Crystal Mixed Shape Earrings. Accessorize your LBD with these and you’ve got yourself a winning look. (

3. This Tall Ruffle Strappy Playsuit is everything I want in a summer frock: short (to make the heat more tolerable), colorful (a lovely shade of tangerine), and spunky (look no further than the ruffle). Well played, Topshop. (

4. Mini Sac Black Cream Milano, why are you so perfect? (

5. Piña and naners and melons! Oh my! I thoroughly enjoy the smorgasbord of fruit and the polka dots that make up this unique Fresh Farmer’s Market Dress. The cap sleeves, slim green belt and inconspicuous pockets are just a few extra touches of personality that make this dress top my wish list. (

1. Blue suede shoes get a makeover with Madewell’s D’orsay flats in none other than noble blue. (

2. One Kings Lane is having a sale on its copper mugs, better known as Moscow Mule Mugs. If you’re a good Samaritan like me, you’ve resisted the temptation to make off with one of these quaint, shiny mugs after enjoying the trendy, refreshing adult beverage. Now you can have a pair all your own. Get in on it before it’s too late! (

3. Rock a fanny pack with style with this Evan Belt Bag by Erin Dana. Of course, the black and gold had me sold. As an added bonus, the smaller pouch breaks off into a clutch that can be worn separately. (

4. I think art-deco clutches might be my new thing, if you remember the little Karmaloop number from last week. Take a gander at Rafe New York’s Alicia geometric box clutch from the Lucite Collection. Edgy in more ways than one, amiright? (

5. I say the bigger the better when it comes to bow ties. I’m glad I’ve found a brand that matches my sentiments. I’m quite fond of Billie Jean Bowties & Designs’ Jumbo Kente Bowtie. It’s daringly darling. (

1. My affinity for the killer combo of black and gold continues with this art-deco-inspired Empire Reigns Clutch from Karmaloop. (

2. Are you tired of “Happy” by Pharrell yet? Well, I’m not. I’m convinced I may never get the song out of my system. Thankfully this Peace Love Happy Black V-Neck Tee will help keep the party going and spread plenty of happiness in the process. (

3. No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. This dress has not one or two but four sleeves. Count ’em up. This Dress With Four Sleeves brings the quirky and sporty for a one-of-a-kind look sure to turn heads. (

4. I’d like to think this Mint Green Chiffon Bow Belted Wrap Dress is sort of the poor woman’s version of Lupita Nyong’o’s light blue Prada Oscar gown. I’m not mad at all! Do you see the resemblance? (

5. Oh the places I’d go in this Alice + Olivia Simoes Bustier Leather Dress. A wedding, a fancy dinner party and a hot date, to name a few. As an added bonus, the dress is as stunning from the front as it is from the back. (

1. I just can’t seem to shake this fascination with hot pants. The warm weather and the fact that we’re officially in spring has something to do with it, I’m sure. My latest favorites are these Shorts With Front Slits in tangerine. (

2. Peplum just doesn’t get old for me. Take a look-see at this Shakuhachi Jacket Dress With Peplum Detail to see what I mean. (

3. Liz Palacios’ Gold Turquoise and Silver Shade Crystal Drop Earrings are perfect for adding a subtle pop of color. Me gusta! (

4. Stussy wins yet again! I’m currently enamored with its vintage-inspired Women’s Macaw Bra Top, with the bright bird detail. I’ve resolved to make more crop tops a part of my spring and summer wardrobe, and this one is definitely at the top of my radar. (

5. Thought it comes in many varieties, I’m quite partial to the Sézane leather Clark Bag in the tried and true black hue. (
