Sweater weather was in full effect this past weekend, so I decided to put on my JCLU Forever “Pray, Believe, Receive” sweater with something to keep my neck warm, and add a pop of color to this black-and-white ensemble.

“Ba-da-ba-ba-ba.” You may recognize this festive, vintage tee from a Thrifted Thursday. Yes, it’s true. I partied at McDonald’s as a kid, and the Mickey D’s turn up still continues from time to time. In fact, I had lunch there yesterday.

It’s officially sweater weather in Los Angeles, and I don’t know whether to smile or sulk. Summer’s the best, and unfortunately, she’s long gone. For the sake of these pictures, I’m doing the former — all smiles on a Sunday afternoon. In this Outfit of the Day, I’m coping with the colder temps by layering and lightening the mood with bursts of rich color. See more of this fall look after the jump!
I have the best friends ever, y’all! So I put this awesome Thug Life tee in my Fancy Things Friday post a few weeks ago, and my good friend, Andrea, bought it for me out of the kindness of her heart. Thanks, Vick! See the full Outfit of the Day after the jump.
“She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.” Proverbs 31:14
This past Saturday, my guy and I made the trek to Corona to see my friends from my previous job for a potluck and game night. I guess I was channeling my desire for a cool ocean breeze with this nautical-inspired outfit, as the temps that day were nearly 100 degrees. Thank God for air conditioning at Mel’s house and a lovely time spent with lovely people.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1,2
I wore this casual get-up on a recent Sunday afternoon. I especially enjoyed how the various colors in the scarf are mirrored throughout the outfit, from the sweater to the shoulder bag to the shoes. If the purse looks familiar, it’s because it was featured in one of my thrifted Christmas hauls. Liz Claiborne never lets me down. Love that girl!
