embrace you

Sometimes I view my differences as unique; other times I’m not as positive. I was temporarily having one of “those” days not too long ago, where I was second guessing myself and feeling reeaaally small. Thankfully, I wasn’t there for too long. And if you’re there, I’m here to pick you up from that gloomy place and shine some light your way. Listen up! This Wednesday Word No. 26, courtesy of My Purple Dreams, was exactly what I needed to hear. My unique qualities are what make me ME. And your quirks and flaws are what make you YOU. So, it’s best to embrace those intricacies. After all, they’re what make you beautiful. It’s no coincidence that my devotionals this week focused on two scriptures about who God created us to be. 1.) “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27 AND 2.) “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14. Basically, these scriptures are the mic drop to this post. There’s no refuting Truth!

Be true to yourself, gals! Let this Wednesday Word No. 3, courtesy of Her Lovely Heart, be a reminder to love the skin you’re in. The legendary singer-actor Judy Garland knew exactly what she was talking about. It’s easy for us to get distracted by what the next girl is doing, and wonder why we’re not experiencing the same frills, be it a promotion at your job, a talk-dark-and-handsome boyfriend, that fancy dress, that designer bag — you fill in the blank. Stop looking around and start looking within. God made you uniquely you. Just do you, boo boo — no comparisons, no imitations.
