If the pattern of the dress in this Outfit of the Day looks familiar, you’ve got an excellent memory! I found this vintage dress at The Red Light Clothing Exchange in Portland. The very autumn-like colors made this dress the perfect choice to wear to Thanksgiving dinner. See the full look after the jump!
“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” Psalm 9:1
The oranges, tans and browns in this piece are the epitome of fall, in my opinion. And being that Thanksgiving is smack dab in the middle of autumn, this dress went quite well with the occasion. This year, I have so much to be thankful for: God’s hand upon my life, family, friends, a roof over my head, a car that works, a job that I’m happy to go to every day and much more. Being surrounded by family was exactly what I needed. Just spending time with my parents, siblings and nephew was a reminder of how blessed I truly am. We played cards, added inappropriate commentary while watching movies and television, laughed, pre-Black Friday shopped and ate a delicious dinner. We feasted on my mom’s famous mac and cheese (heavy on the black pepper!), turkey, stuffing, collard greens, sweet potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes and sweet rolls. In fact, I ate so much that the button on the dress kept popping. Thank goodness it was a snap closure! I hope your holiday was extra special.
