This Outfit of the Day is as festive as they come! What you didn’t see is the week of hideously amusing Christmas sweaters that preceded this lovely and equally ugly Christmas button-down shirt.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
Can’t you tell that Christmas is hands down my favorite holiday?! It’s a celebration of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ’s birth, and it’s always a time of jubilation. And I love to express my delight with festive expressions of the holiday. I found this extravagant denim shirt emblazoned with all things Christmas cheer at a thrift shop for $2 the week after last Christmas, if memory serves. I waited for the opportune moment all year to wear it this Dec. 25, ’cause I’m that nerd who buys one item of clothing that can be worn once in a calendar year just for giggles. I mean, it doesn’t get more festive than this: a rosy-cheeked jolly St. Nick, his tiny little helper preparing gifts, a dainty Scottish terrier wearing a plaid sweater, presents aplenty and a wintry scene peeking out from the window. You can’t see the cotton ball details on Santa’s hat and coat, which is too bad. Thankfully, the shirt is oversized (I believe the tag says it’s a medium, and I usually wear an extra-small or small) to allow for all the delicious barbecue I feasted on that day. To add some edge to this outfit, I paired the shirt with some sleek black leggings and these fierce red-and-black snakeskin and suede flats. And I threw on a red lip for good measure.
